Although he’s been making music for a few years the passion and delivery of his music really evolved for the better after overcoming a severe and damaging addiction to a certain "herb". He narrowly Escaped getting sectioned to Goodmayes mental institution for incidents of “random and irrational behavior” after numerous complaints from a land lord and close friends including music producer Mr Soundz, who recalls “G would turn up to the studio at random….with this wild energy and do “a lot” of mad stuff I can’t even mention”.
G-Range went AWOL and remained homebound in order to rediscover himself, rejecting the assistance of any medical treatment or government therapy “I needed to be away from people and discover my reason for being alive, without the "NEGATIVE" influence…because honestly, I was going downhill” say’s G-Range.
After 5 months and overcoming his cravings he discovered that music was the new focus within his life and began writing lyrics based only on all the experiences he had been thru throughout his life, re-told with a mix of humor and serious awareness he began recording again hooking up with Mr Soundz….again.
G-Range believes his excessive smoking days is the reason for his deep gravelly tone of voice, but he ensures people that this is a positive thing as his voice is now unique and distinctive, another positive drawn from his negative experience was his explosions of random energy “i still got a little bit of crazy in me I can’t lie, when im onstage expect the unexpected….put nothing past me ha ha”
G-Range has since gained the support of legendary DJs Big Ted and Shortee Blitz and has been featured in numerous top ten charts including UK street sounds and RWD magazine, consistently play listed for radio stations KISS and BBC1xtra and was also approached by Marcus Nasty the founder of Ghetto, Kano and D Double E to sign with NASTY UK.
G-Range’s highly energetic and often humorous live shows have taken him all over the UK alongside artists such as Skinny man, Babyshambles, Ty, Vula, Heartless Crew, Sway, Kano, Pyrelli, Mike GLC, N-Dubz many more.
