double L has been on the Philadelphia DJ scene since 1999, doin it big on the reggae/dancehall/hip hop party scene. Music has always been a part of his life from the genesis of his music interest with piano lessons at age 5, through his high school years playing guitar and drums in various Punk and Hardcore bands throughout the south-central PA region, to his ongoing DJ career in Philadelphia and, now, New York City.

L started as a strictly hip hop DJ. He had only been playing on his first set of decks (gemini belt-drives w/audio technical needles) for a few months when he was introduced to the world of dancehall via the weekend after-hour West Indian speakeasies/clubs of West Philadelphia. His focus quickly shifted to reggae and dancehall music.

It wasn't until a few years later, while working at Armand's Records (Philadelphia's TOP record store at the time), that he linked with his future G13 founding members: Dirty South Joe, Jes-One, and Jay-P. It was working at Armand's that taught L a lot about the DJ world and about music in general. It was here where he developed his style of tight-blending, quick cuttin, in your face, non-stop party rockin.

double L has played at many legendary Philadelphia clubs such as Transit, Chrome, Shampoo & Fluid; as well as many well-known lounges like Filo's, Sugar Mom's, Byblos, Gojjo, Loie, Soma, and countless others.

Currently double L is working on two mixtape series. The first is the "Home For Carnival" Soca series longside fellow G13 INTERNATIONAL selecta el Professor. There are currently four installments available. The second is the "In Your Blood Clot Face" Dancehall series which currently only has one edition available and a second coming soon as well.

He has relocated to the Boogie-Down Bronx to pursue his musical career. Recent gigs in the city have been at Maroon's restaurant in Chelsea, Manhattan, & the HOME FOR CARNIVAL 4 release party at Hope Lounge in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
