Gabriel Ben has become one of the most sought after DJ/Producers in the industry having developed his sound and style for over a decade. Gabriel began as a DJ in 1987 and later began to produce in 2002. It was later, in 2006 that Gabe's music was heard to the masses, when he teamed up with newcomer at the time, Lance Blaise, who then used the alias Tacopimp, and they eventually formed the production duo of "Tattoo Detectives". After spending three years producing under that former name "Tattoo Detectives", Gabe decided to part ways and leave the group to Lance. During that time, Gabe along with his former partner created one of the highly successful record labels in Teggno, and some highly notable singles, including "ETC", "Il Salto Fuori", "She Bleeps 'N Bloops" among many. Anyway, no matter how you look at it, Gabe both as a Producer and DJ has been able to translate his feelings for his music and sounds into top-notch performances and productions.
Now Gabe has released well over 30 singles and remixes on labels including the likes of Vandit, Teggno, Sound of Acapulco, Definition, Tech Head, and soon on Soundstage. Starting in 2006, Carl Cox took notice with a track “ETC” in which he later signed to his “Carl Cox Space Ibiza CD”. Gabe, producing under the former duo of Tattoo Detectives followed up that single with one of the most notable tracks in EDM with a shelf life of over 2 years in the anthem of “Il Salto Fuori”. This track gained massive support by the likes of Paul Van Dyk & Carl Cox to name a few. Cox told Residentadvisor.com "This record is storming" and "Its pumping techno in its fury." Carl even selected it as one of his best tracks for 2006. Later, PVD also commented on his Vonyc show saying “The Ibiza season in 2008 has been inspired by the Tattoo Detectives Il Salto Fuori, and its all about this dj is f*uckin’ crazy” Gabe also created an exclusive mix for only PVD & Cox to have, which Gabe later signed to PVD’s much successful compilation “Cream Ibiza” and later released as a single to fans globally in 2008. Another single the former duo created, "She Bleeps N' Bloops" got some notable recognition as it made headlines with URB magazine and BEATPORT, becoming a top seller on the internet’s most prominent download music store. “Dirty Volume" also gained a ton of support, as a regular in Coxy's playlist as well as signed to Adam Sheridan's latest CD compilation on Goodgref. GB’s "Days of Groove" single has become a regular in the box of Technasia. His release of "I Love Music" featured the hits "I Love the 80's" & "Something Wicked This Way" which got major plays from the likes of Carl Cox, Jon Rundell, Trevor Rockcliffe amongst many others. In May 2009, Gabriel Ben landed a track on Carl Cox's Mixmag covermount CD with his "Days Of Detroit" single. That single will also appear on Cox's "Space Ibiza 2009 CD later in June. Forthcoming, there is lots to look forward to including new productions, remixes, and an artist album.
Along with production comes DJ’ing and Gabriel’s style has captivated crowds over the years with his dancefloor unique sound and his vibrant energy allowing him to connect with fans. During the 2008 season, some of Gabriel Ben’s highlights included; playing a tour in Brazil, which included the cities Rio De Janiero, Fortaleza, and Salvador. Gabe also traveled as an exclusive warm up DJ along with his former partner as the Tattoo Detectives on Carl Cox’s Ultimate CC Tour, which included stops in Boston & New York City. Going forward in 2009, look for more tour dates, including stops in Europe, Ibiza, and Winter Music Conference as well as America and Canada.
Gabriel’s DJ mixes and music productions have been going out to audience’s globally on stations including Radio 1, Kiss FM, Radio FG, Sirius, XM Radio, Proton, Afterhours FM, Vonyc to name a few. Clips of Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox, and Eddie Halliwell playing Gabe's music can be heard on his myspace music player. Gabe also connected with his audience, by creating "Teggno Sessions" along with his former duo partner. That program was also a part of PVD’s radio network Vonyc. Gabriel Ben also hosts his own radio show "Tektronic" which aired on Vonyc, and now can be heard on DI.FM (Digitally Imported) as well as syndicated on other stations globally.
This year will see the release of several brand new singles, remixes, and an album from Gabriel Ben. Also expect to see Gabe doing some more international touring in Europe & Ibiza as well as in the US. With support by Carl Cox & Paul Van Dyk amongst many, talent in the studio and on the decks, Gabriel Ben's name and reputation is growing rapidly in 2009 and beyond...
