Writing, producing, directing, drinking bubble tea. Very spicy Indian food. The parrots who live in the tree across from my work. And also linguistics. Linguistics is awesome.
Music
It's a melee of latin/crusian/dominican/cuban, 60s and 70s bollywood, delta blues, smart hip-hop, un-catagoizable, etc, they might be giants, bjork, peggy lee, flaming lips, talking heads, belle and sebastian, ahsa bhosle, abba, laurie anderson, morgan orion reisman, tiny tim, t-rex, dschinghis khan, brecht, bob dylan, beatles, of montreal, manu chao, gillian welch, ween- etc, etc- my tastes are scattered and specific.
Movies
Don!- quite possibly the best Bollywood movie ever. Really, really into Bollywood. Pee-Wee's Big Adventure- I could watch it every day and laugh just as hard every time.
..
Television
I sometimes find myself watching the repeating adds for Pat O'Brians and Original Daqueris on the New Orleans hospitality channel, thinking of all the things I should be doing instead.
Books
Carl Sandburg is the poet lauriette of my prairie soul. The Thirteen Clocks by Thurber. Alice in Wonderland, The God of Small Things was the last great thing I read. I read alot of plays, though not nearly as many as I should. I like Durang, and Adam Rap, Will Eno, Matin McDunough, some of Sam Shepard's stuff, Y.York and that Canadian guy who wrote The Drawer Boy. I'm no good with names. May I recommend "More Pepper: four plays" by Gabrielle Reisman, it makes for a smexcellent read.
About me: I write plays, and direct plays, and produce plays, and act perhaps a little. I run an underground theatre. I like to cook, travel, garden, talk politics, take bike rides, drink, dance, eat and sit outside on nice nights. I like mexican bingo cards, and earrings. I get excited when I see people I know in movies unexpectedly and when they serve food on the airplane with real silverware. I am attempting to live life like a vacation. A hectic, disorderly, over-encumbered vacation. So far it's going swimmingly.
It's Julie Doiron and some dude. I haven't heard much of her besides her work with Herman Dune, I'd like to meet her and listen to more of what she's made. I rather liked them as they were, but maybe you are right about the children, but the long hair in her face makes her seem childish and Super 8 film makes it marvelous. The temperature has been pretty nice here, today anyway. Did you find any new meat?
Gabby! How the hell are you?! Do you have any way I can get in contact with walker? I'm goin to Iraq and need to make plans to look forward to...Where the hell are you gonna be in December anyways??
Thank you. I'm trying, but Morgan drags his ass when asked to help with anything. I guess we are all just really on our own here in this world.... Maybe not always... Love you! Is that your Mardi Gras Costume?
One of those mad doctors who was playing god in a house that was not quite as spooky looking as his father made it out to be. He kills his wife in a car accident because he's going mad fast (in a convertible mercury comet. Her head comes off and he keeps her alive. Then goes around town looking for a nice hot body to put her on. It's mad weird and trashy. His wife's head turns out to be really pissed off at him and is able to control the deformed creature in the closet.....
The not so distant future, like in Mystery Science Theater 3000. Dad and I watched The Brain That Wouldn't Die tonight. It was ultra twisted and awesome. Remember to eat and drink water.
