The editor of Gagging For It is Viv Smythe. Viv swam with the little fish on the Sydney stand-up and impro scene back around the turn of the millennium, and is now a professional webwrangler.
Gagging For It is the first online comedy directory in Oz to take full advantage of Web 2.0+ features to make info on Australian Live Comedy really easy for fans to find in searches online.
The site includes:
Latest News - who's touring, festivals, special events
Comedy Near You - what comedy rooms have gigs on a Tuesday in your town?
Comedian Profiles (regularly updated) - bios & cyberdetails so fans can keep track of their favourite performers' gigs
The site will tend to be a bit Sydney-centric because that's where your editor (Viv Smythe) lives, but covering comedy all around our wide brown land is the goal (the more tips & plugs for gigs that are sent to me, the better the news will be).
Viv is keen to feature up and coming comedians (the big guns are easy for the fans to find) and smaller comedy rooms (especially those outside the state capitals). (P.S. the more of you that link gaggingforit.com.au back on your own non-myspace websites ('cos myspace munges the link), the better for all of us in terms of search engine juice)
Who I'd like to meet: Comedians, Comedy Rooms, Comedy Festivals, Comedy Fans
Just dropping by to give a heads up that Ep 5 of the Rogues Gallery is up. If you hated waiting for forever and day to download the podcast, you can now stream it live directly via our myspace. Just go to our myspace to listen to a new podcast each week. Listen in during the Christmas break for our special Adelaide show with Jason Chong, Gordon Southern (UK) and other comedy delights.
How are you? Just thought I would give you a yell that episodes 1-3 of the rogues gallery are up on the myspace. If you listen to the little message left on the myspace player it should give the direction on how to download it. We are going to upload episodes 4-5 this weekend. It may sound abit dodgy due to the equipment and we are still getting the sounds bites together but enjoy them all in their lackluster glory.
