En estos tiempos turbios y solapados, dogmáticos, inquisidores y tan exageradamante politizados, se necesita buscar respuestas puras, abrir todo tipo de compuertas para permitir entrar la luz, el aire y abrir conciencias, nuestra conciencia, al menos.
Cada persona tiene la posibilidad de ejercer tan valioso cometido alguna vez en su vida, en cualquier situación, sea cotidiana o especial. Tiene el derecho cósmico de buscar y conseguir esa paz interior que hace que no nos sintamos tan mezquinos e insensibles, y más acordes a la justicia divina (que no infinita), la que está más allá de la que los hombres mezquinos han hecho.
Demostrado está que la música popular es tal porque proviene del pueblo, nace de1 sentimiento general, el que logró expresar el juglar, cantor, cantautor, poeta o cualquier artista que se precie de tener esa conciencia y poder transmitir emoción, actitud y carácter a los que le escuchan, el propio pueblo.
A lo largo de la historia de la música popular han sido y son muchos los artistas que consiguieron abrirnos un poco más la conciencia y aportar su grano de arena a la construcción de un mundo pacífico y más justo. Sólo desde los sesentas (época clave para el nacimiento y desarrollo de las libertades) hasta ahora, podríamos nombrar a muchos adelantados maestros, desde Dylan, Brassens, Paco Ibáñez, Lennon, Marley, Jim Morrison, Patti Smith, The Last Poets, etc, hasta Rage Against The Machine, Las Manos de Filipi, Ben Harper o Rosendo, como iconos del pensamiento e idea universalistas. Y somos millones las personas que hemos aprendido algo de ellos, y que, dentro de nuestro ámbito, intentamos día a día hacer realidad ese tópico quizás utópico que es "arreglar el mundo", en cualquier sentido o dirección. Pero como dice el dicho: "La utopía es la realidad del mañana".
Y yo, como persona y músico perteneciente a este mundo actual, tan turbio y solapado, dogmático, inquisidor y tan exageradamente politizado, exijo mi derecho a protestar por tal situación, la actual, una bola de nieve que viene rodando, con la palabra "normalidad" como modelo, desde hace mucho más que 40 años, un siglo, seiscientos años...más.
Y mi protesta comienza con ese tópico de frase tan manido como: "Mi más absoluta y total repulsa...", pero a los censores de la libertad, con sus ideas caducas, trasnochadas y retrógradas, así como a aquellos que se benefician de las guerras, del hambre, de las drogas "legales" (alcohol y tabaco), y de las "normalmente" llamadas "largas enfermedades" y su inexorable desarrollo.
Y así, por lo tanto, ejerzo ese valioso cometido que tiene como fin sentirme cada día mejor y menos sucio, tanto como persona y como músico, pudiendo transmitir, en este último caso, esas canciones e ideas universalistas de esos adelantados maestros que nos precedieron y guiaron. Y lo seguiré haciendo.
