   About Galaxia
Galaxia initially only existed for a single day, in June 2005 shortly before the G8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland, for which singer/songwriter Steve Wallis wrote the songs "Do They Know It's G8 Time?" and "The Revolution Starts Now!" The acoustic guitarist, who wanted to be referred to as Adam from the Cutting Rooms, did not wish to participate any more.

Steve continued to keep the Galaxia website www.galaxiamusic.org going, however, putting many more song lyrics there with the intention of resurrecting Galaxia.

Steve recorded some socialist musical poetry unaccompanied, when he was unable to get a band together (due to his incarceration as a political prisoner in a psychiatric ward), and put it on the musical poetry page of his socialist website, plus his MySpace page.

Steve finally managed to get involved in a band in Glasgow in January 2008; this new band decided to call itself Red Day. Red Day first hit the internet, with a MySpace page, a website (www.red-day.net) and with the songs publicised on Steve's other internet sites.

Galaxia had a new lease of life in June 2008 with a very funny dance version of "The Revolution Starts Now!", mixed by an anarchist called Steve the Pro. This track can now be played from this MySpace page.

Steve returned to Manchester in September 2008 and resurrected the band Galaxia, initially just with Jonny Faders on the 8th of October. He is on the lookout for new members. Please ring him on 07725 735255 or email him at revolutionarysocialiststeve@yahoo.co.uk if you wish to participate in Galaxia, whether just for the odd recording session (which take place at the Cutting Rooms recording studio in North Manchester) or to become a full band member who will also participate in gigs.

The MySpace software used for music is full of bugs, and even uses deliberate censorship.

If you want to include songs by one of my bands, Red Day or Galaxia (or any other artist for which tracks exist as freely downloadable MP3 files), then I suggest you use Project Playlist (www. playlist. com). That software is very easy to use, bug free and censorship free.

I have used Project Playlist on my profile, including a selection of Red Day and Galaxia songs and some unaccompanied musical poetry I performed in 2007. It'd be great if lots of people around the world put our songs on their profiles, at this very important time - the run-up to the 2008 G8 summit, which takes place in Japan from Monday the 7th to Wednesday the 9th of July.

Galaxia singer/songwriter Steve Wallis is now in the band Red Day.

You can hear/download some of our songs from the Red Day MySpace page (click on the logo). You can also download them from the Red Day website www. red-day. net.

Steve intends to improve the lyrics of "Do They Know It's G8 Time?" and hopefully record it with Red Day soon. The 2008 G8 summit is from Monday the 7th to Wednesday the 9th of July, in Japan.

Many people, in the West as well as underdeveloped countries, are striking, demonstrating and rioting due to massive food and fuel price rises which are probably already causing millions to starve or freeze to death.

Coordinated strike action at the time of this year's G8 summit is surely achievable, as long as left-wing activists take up our call for a worldwide general strike!

I have revamped my personal MySpace page to include a virtual MP3 player with a playlist of 20 songs/musical poems (in a good order), with me unaccompanied (apart from "Fairytale of New York" as a Christmas special).

One of the recordings is called "The Revolution Could Have Started Then!", an updated version of "The Revolution Starts Now!" that plays on this page.

I recorded some of this "socialist musical poetry" in December 2007, to supplement my collection of recordings from February/March 2007.
