Jefferson Airplane and Bauhaus met Dead Can Dance and Christian Death in a Dark Alley, then made up and performed together at a Political Rally.
Some time, a long time ago, Nykk Fell from grace, or at least had an idea to start a dark psychedelic band. For as long as anyone can remember Galaxxy Chamber have been one of the coolest local bands on the San Francisco live circuit. The three core members for the last fifteen years have been Nykk Fell, Krystl Chamber and Bill Keaney.
Galaxxy Chamber's breakout onto the national scene is long overdue.
Right on! Great American Music Hall a great place to play to be sure. We miss you all. Thanks for keeping me posted even if it might be spam. Give Randy our Love. Peace and Aquarian waves dark delight and splendor.
THE RETURN OF THE BAT
Specimen will bring their special brand of glam mayhem, The Batcave to London again.
After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood.
Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment.
The 2009 Batcave will feature installations from exciting new artists of the ‘Dark London Underground’ and visuals from the upcoming ‘Welcome To The Batcave’ book, along with this year’s bitcrushed message from the creature in t
We weren't planning on this show, but it just came up so we said yes.Soooooo all that means is we will be gettin' drunk with our good friends and doing stuff we never do-meaning DAM gems you've guaranteed NEVER,ever heard before. We will also be playing some brand new stuff for the first time ever.Yes thats right-you can be the first to hear our new songs, which are WAY more on the heavy side, and dare I say,in the vein of Rage meets Pearl Jam and Janes Addiction. This WILL be a very special night-think thunder and dynamite in a small room while you're on ectasy.I guarantee this will be a very special PARTY-way different than our usual DAM set on a larger stage. We go on at 8:00 PM.This is going to be different than any thing we've done in our 15 years as a band. But meh, blah blah, let's have a brew together and drown our sorrows while we experience something no one else has yet-NEW DAM SONGS!(Oh yeah-guess I forgot to mention that DAM's alter ego is LEVEE-DAM is the 'lighter' stuff and Levee being the 'heavier' stuff).
New songs are up on the DAM page-check 'em out and let us know what you think please. Song #5 (Leavin') features the saxophone player from the band The Eagles,Greg Smith. We also recorded a tribute to Johnny Cash (Black Door). Our new CD was produced by 2 time grammy winner Tom Weir and recorded in Los Angeles. Also, tomorrow night will be another great DAM party-Sunday,March 1 at the Fat Cat in Modesto. DAM will open the show for rock n' roll legend Pat Travers. We start playing at 9 pm.Our show with Pat last year was great, and this one WILL sell out. Don't miss it!

A night of excellent draft beer, fine food and terrific live music played through a new, tuned Meyer Sound system. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Good news: the Sunday Contra Costa Times rated my June 11 show at the Plough & Stars a "best bet" (page D5, May 25). They even put my pic next to Death Cab for Cutie and Brad Paisley. Not bad company to be in ...
As the paper says: "Berkeley musician Steve Taylor-Ramírez takes his Latin-infused neo-folk, across the Bay to San Francisco's Plough and Stars pub, 9 p.m. 116 Clement St. Free. (415) 751-1122, http://www. theploughandstars. com."

Songs of love and protest, from both sides of the border. Mexico-born MAMACOATL brings her passion for life and justice as she takes us across the line, reducing walls to rubble and creating new paradigms in bolero, blues and funk ranchero. Acclaimed Berkeley songwriter STEVE TAYLOR-RAMÍREZ offers his acoustic soul, neo-folk and Latin roots with songs of love and rebellion. Classically trained Mexican guitarist ALFREDO GOMEZ brings Nueva Trova to life as he sings of love and its absence, sadness and joy … and releases his new CD.
