Please watch this video above and witness the cruel conditions these animals are subjected to in factory farms. sadly 95% of animals will endure these stressful and unnatural conditions until they die. Immediate and gigantic steps must be taken to stop factory farming, but everyone can make a difference by reducing or eliminating meat out of their diet, and supporting Farm Sanctuary, Humane Farming Association, ASPCA, The Humane Society, and PETA. Please do not turn your heads from their pain.

This Video was made by Opus One at http://www.myspace.com/savingopusone, and footage was provided by Farm Sanctuary and PETA.

   About Be Silent Galileah
thank you in advance for visiting my profile and supporting me in the developmental stages of these raw and unfinished songs currently being written for my debut album. i hope you find something that resonates either with your appreciation of music or appreciation of this earth, but hopefully both. if you would like to know more about my history and the songs on this page see both the blogs above and the biography below. there are eleven completed songs in the widget available for download. these are quite dated experimental recordings never intended to be "finished," and each file has a little bit of history that can also be found on the widget. if you like them please enjoy! if you have any questions please send me a message. if you would like to share constructive criticism or have feedback for me i would appreciate that more than i am able to express.

positive energy and love your way. i wish you a beautiful and enlightened day. Namaste.

I Believe in spreading positive messages in music.

it would be both bold to deny that music today is spreading negative messages and to speak out against those responsible for spreading those messages to impressionable generations. it is evident all over that the most widely accessible lyrics have penetrated an entire generation of youth in a disturbing way. these youth are our future and will be responsible for the planet when we are gone. it is imperative to instill positive messages and world awareness now. currently materialism is the prevailing theme in music and artists supported by the media. this is detrimental! with a nation focused inwards on what we can buy, we further danger the imbalance of this world and neglect suffering countries who have nothing. it is so easy to ignore that which does not directly affect you.

Be Bold and create music that heals and instills positive messages upon the collective conscious of humanity. within lyrics we are able to spread good values, inspire activism, change, self awareness, love of ones self, family, friends, neighbors, ethnic diversity, religious tolerance, sexual orientation, gender equality, cultural understanding, spirituality, happiness, and peace.

this music manifests itself through the deafening and often depressing silence who at last has demanded a voice...

who am I to deny her?

my history... i have walked this earth almost twenty three years. music has always been prominent in some way along my path, varying in degrees of intensity throughout the many periods of this journey. early years of classical violin and piano, followed by later years of percussion and acoustic guitar have paved the foundation for songwriting, giving a voice to the powerful force i feel inside me; sometimes whispering, sometimes yelling, continually demanding that i write music. it is all i have. the only thing i can call my own. it is healing. it is a release. it has helped me to evolve. it has completely consumed me. it is now my life.

the road i have traveled has also presented two incredibly talented bands, both requesting a violinist. please support cohen & the ghost and field day and send them a friend request, love, and support.

all songs are recorded using garageband in my bedroom on a macbook either through the internal microphone or through a pre amp and a higher quality mic. all sound mixing and producing is also achieved at wee hours of the morning.

first song above is posted only as an example of what a finished song might sound like or what i am capable of producing. currently a finished product is rare and the remainder of the six songs you hear above are the rough and raw foundation of songs i have either not finished writing or simply wanted to experiment with. i have posted them to gain insight and hopefully hear feedback: what you think works, what does not work, what you would like to hear, etc. all songs above and many you have not yet heard will be on an album i would like to complete by the end of this year. spring is a more realistic goal however i have never been realistic but fantastically stubborn. so we will see.

the songs to the left are all available for you to download at no cost. if the widget has trouble loading, simply click reverbnation in the top right hand corner or follow the link listed under band website to download the mp3 files. these songs are primarily ancient and were recorded during a time of isolation and regeneration. some are more recent: "tallahassee war song," "tallahassee loves d minor," and "meditating with night noise in south carolina" were all recorded live with philliam and alex of Cohen & the Ghost. much thanks and love to them. please enjoy.

when the album is finished i will allow anyone and everyone to download at no cost. the songs you are able to download now will remain free of charge. if you like my music and what i stand for, you have the option of making a donation to help and support me in all current and future musical endeavors. i have learned that music should be available for everyone to enjoy. thank you for your support. much love to you all.

Here are a few simple things you can start doing today to lessen your environmental impact at home and in the garden:

1. Get a High-Efficiency Showerhead A high-efficiency showerhead saves up to 3,000 gallons of water per person per year. You'll also save $50 of energy costs and 1,000 .lbs of carbon dioxide per person per year. Today's latest and greatest are specially designed to conserve resources while still feeling like a decadent showerhead. Sink aerator attachments also save major water and go for as little as $2 per sink.

2. Recycle Water in Your Bathroom Use devices such as the Sink Positive system, which allows you to reuse sink water for flushing your toilet. Or keep a bucket by the shower or tub and fill it with the cold water that comes out before the hot water kicks in. Then you can take the bucket outside and use it to water your plants.

3. Compost Use a composter to turn your food and lawn wastes into rich mulch. It's a great way to reduce your trash production, and the combination of food waste and all of those falling leaves is the perfect mix for composting. Next spring you'll have rich compost ready to go for spring planting.

4. Purchase Green Power from Your Utility Most charge less than $5 per month extra. Not only will your power come from a renewable source, but you'll use the power of your spending to show utility executives and government officials that we need more investment in renewable energy projects.

5. Improve the Efficiency of Your Existing Hot Water Heater Tankless and solar hot water heaters are great, but simple changes to your existing setup can cut your energy bills and carbon emissions by 25 percent or more. Reduce the temperature of your hot water heater to 120 degrees, wrap it in a water heater insulating blanket and insulate the first 3 to 6 feet of hot and cold water pipes. These changes should take you less than an hour and cost less than $50 to complete.

6. Use High-Efficiency Outdoor Lighting A typical 100-watt floodlight, if used for six hours per day, can consume up to $40 of electricity over the course of a year and produce upwards of 400 pounds of CO2 depending on where you live. For starters, replace those floodlights with compact-fluorescent versions — they're just as bright and use 1/4 the energy. Next, replace low-wattage halogen landscape bulbs with LED versions. They cut energy use by over 80 percent and can last for 10 years or more. Finally, install motion sensors on any nonessential lights. New versions just screw right into your existing light socket.

7. Replace High-Use Indoor Lights with Compact Fluorescents or LEDs Today's compact fluorescent bulbs are better than ever. No long waits to get up to full power, high-quality light, sizes for almost any fixture and even versions that are dimmable for all of those recessed lights. They're more expensive to begin with, but between energy savings and much longer lifespan they pay for themselves in less than two years. Also, consider LED bulbs for those non-dimmable circuits (especially for holiday lighting). They are true energy misers, and will last for as long as you live in your house.

8. Load Up the Washing Machines Make sure you run dishwashers and clothes washers only when they're full. Clothes washers are huge energy and water users, so make sure you're doing full loads (or adjusting the water setting) whenever possible. And most of us use far more water (and soap) then we need to when hand-washing, especially when compared to todays' high-efficiency Energy Star dishwashers. So save your time, water and power by putting those dishes directly in the dishwasher after a meal.

9. Drive Smarter Hybrids, biodiesels, electric - today we have more choices than ever when it comes to efficient transportation. But, some simple changes in our existing driving habits can improve fuel efficiency by up to 25%. Tips include driving at (or near!) the speed limit, keeping your tires inflated, making sure oil and air filters are clean, and stepping on the gas / brakes carefully. Driving like a drag racer may be fun, but it has a substantial environmental cost!

10. Avoid the Daily Waste of Fast Food and Shopping Next week, keep track of how much trash you generate by eating out and making trips to the store, I guarantee you'll be amazed! All of those bags, cups, and containers really add up and are stuffing our landfills to capacity. Bring your own plastic/metal boxes to your favorite take-out joint. You'll save resources and save them money. Use reusable shopping bags whenever you go to the store. Say "No Thanks" when the pharmacist or fast food clerk tries to put your one or two items in a bag. Use reusable cups for coffee and other beverages including for soda and fountain drinks. And, reuse some of the extras at home - keep extra napkins and reuse plastic cups and cutlery.

yes, likewise -- that was exactly the music that I needed to be playing. Your violin playing sounded great. It was a joy to play with someone who truly gets it. We should play again Sunday if you have time -- I have a few CDs for you that you must have.

Hey! Thank you for the compliment! That was the first time I had straightened my hair in 3 years and I remember now that 2 hours of effort is only worth it for about 5 minutes.

everything is going well for me. School is a pain but I'm getting by. Romeo and Tristan are both very happy. Tristan is gaining weight and muscle and looks a lot better. and Romeo is fat and happy as usual!

Your music sounds amazing! I can't believe that at one point you did not believe that your voice was beautiful!! I am so proud of you because your music has come so far and is so beautiful.

so you are going to have access to the internet in India? we do need to keep in touch more because I would like to know what is going on in your life. well if I don't hear from you before you leave, have a safe trip, enjoy your experience, and tell Raoul I said hey!!

I miss you and Love you a lot!

All the Hemispheres

Leave the familiar for a while.
Let your senses and bodies stretch out
Like a welcomed season
Onto the meadows and shores and hills.

Open up to the Roof.

Make a new water-mark on your excitement
And love.
Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness
And giving
Upon our intimate assembly.
Change rooms in your mind for a day.
All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator

In your heart.
prayer

Greet Yourself
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
Back home.

All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
Chatting
While stitching themselves together
Into the Great Circle inside of
You.
