Galleons Lap is a band that you probably don't yet know about, but not to worry; It is merely because they haven’t spammed your Myspace; they haven’t overtly promoted themselves; and so far they haven’t attempted to get radio play. If you were to ask them why, they would probably say something along the lines of; "WE dont need that stuff", or “E-flat is a jazz chord”, but most likely they just hadn't thought to do it. Despite these things, they manage to draw crowds to their occasional and much coveted shows. How is this possible? What attracts people to see an unadvertised band that isn't hyped up through the music industry machine?: The music.
"Galleons Lap are one of the great secrets of Brisbane. Great songs,
beautiful voices and sincerity to burn. I look forward to everyone else
catching on. They are the real-deal". James obrien .
“There's something infinitely reassuring in falling in love with a band the
first time you see them. Experiences like this have the ability to restore
your faith in the talent of your local scene.” Lou Nutt, Time Off Magazine

Thanks Andy, that's ever so poetic of you! Anybody would think you were a songwriter. Ridiculous. I had a grand old time, such lovely people wherever I turned! And of course you and Emma were fantastic - you've got mad skills on the old piani young man. Come down to the Wesley Anne tonight! All the frilly knickers you could ever want!
