696 is a low commission based, free rental space, shop/indoor-outdoor gallery based in Brunswick, Melbourne Vic. Keen on supporting local, national and international talent and just cool shit in general.
696 opened on the 1st of April 2007 to provide a non-arrogant approachable space for emerging and established artists. With an eclectic goal, now synonymous with 696, all mediums, levels of talent and training are acknowledged - Tapping into the diverse reservoir of new Australian talent.
The shop front offers a diverse range of products.
With everything from Prints and Original artworks to Artist produced Clothing, Spray paint, Books and Magazines.
696’s exhibition spaces consist of an intimate second room branching off from the shop front that hosts fortnightly shows throughout the year.
And an Organic outdoor gallery space open November to April for one night only events and exhibitions.
696 is a great resource and platform for artists and creative’s alike to network and build strong working relationships with industry professionals, as well as other artists.
696’s main goal is to support and supply Original Art by Original People.

Awesome..There were too many friggin parents and children there thou..So we didn't stick around for long...But we fell over a lot and had quite a few snow fights...I loved it!!!

Her and Charlie are getting along well. Charlie is a little scared of her, mainly cause she chases charlie around the house and tries to slap her in the face! Its so cute. She got her first lot of needles the other day, she was a really good girl at the vets. Maggie and Jess love her heaps too. We have to take in turns with who sleeps with her!!!!
*phew*, thats a relief to hear they made it down ok. I can't wait to see what the other guys have done. Have a great show and I'll keep an eye out for some photos. Thanks again!
