Born in New York
City and raised in Greenwich Village, Peter Gallway is a singer-songwriter and producer who has created a body of work beginning in the mid-1960’s with the Strangers and the Fifth Avenue Band. 2007's solo projects, Rhythm & Blues and One Summer Day A Long Time Ago, received international attention and 2008 brings the release of Freedom Is, which is being hailed as a milestone.
Peter has produced over fifty CD and special projects including Time and Love: The Music of Laura Nyro featuring Rosanne Cash and Jane Siberry, Bleecker Street: Greenwich Village in the ‘60s, featuring Chrissie Hynde and Suzanne Vega, as well as, solo projects for Cliff Eberhardt, Louise Taylor, and Johnsmith.
He has had songs performed by Bette Midler, Kenny Rogers, Japan’s Bread and Butter,
Cliff Eberhardt, and for the film Hoopla, commissioned by the Basketball Hall of Fame.
He has also written songs and lyrics for three full-length theatrical stage productions commissioned by the Maine Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
He currently resides in Santa Barbara, California.
