About me:

I’m an urban hiker and rider of public transportation (no car), "old hippie," strong preservationist, and San Francisco history buff. A favorite pastime is to meander about taking photos and appreciating San Francisco's stairway streets and hills, and the City's various architecture and things of nature, including park trails, beaches, urban wildlife, and plants. My photoblog, "Stairways are Heaven" is: http://web.me.com/galomorro/Stairways_are_Heaven Most of my photos are on Webshots: http://www.webshots.com (in the “Outdoors – Cityscapes” category), and MySpace. Have a collection of “Then and Now” photos on Webshots going back to 1972. What I’ve done here is compare the old photo with the way a house looks now, or in some cases, what it has been replaced WITH. Some goals: To learn to better identify edible herbs; wildflowers and other plants; trees; birds; and different architectural styles; to be more observant. Are there any wild food foraging experts in San Francisco? Looking for wild edible plant identification walks, plus software and teaching DVDs along the lines of a good book I found at the library, “The Wild Vegetarian Cookbook” by “Wildman” Steve Brill.

Who I'd like to meet:

Can't know too many San Francisco history buffs and experts, history and nature walk leaders, including wild food foraging experts.

Greetings from Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada! We have taken sooo many pictures, but no time to post any now. We're at a coffee bar called Oliver's using their WiFi. When we arrived it started SNOWING! Then it cleared right up and now it's sunny and beautiful. I will send you some pics we took soon. I can only get online here for a little while at a time. Love ya! ~ M
