We want a long term solution to this environmental debacle.We love Galway and we know that this sentiment is shared by all who live and visit here. We believe that good water quality is a fundamental human right and that at the moment Galway's water quality is falling far short of international requirements. We see a solution to this crisis. We feel the best way to achieve this solution is to set up an independent group of specialists to oversee the clean up of the Corrib which is the source of the water problems in Galway. If anyone is interested in being part of this group, please contact us.
We want the city officials to face the public for a forum on this issue. We have written to them and the HSE and EPA to request this. We will keep you posted if we hear anything back from them.We have had some response - see below

Here we are in the furthest western point of Europe on an island, rains a lot, no big petrochemical industries etc and yet we can't drink our water! It’s not just the council officials and dept. of environment to blame; it's the complacency of the people of Galway! We all need to get off our a****s and do something about this. The powers that be have to be pushed into action. 90,000 people in Galway cannot drink the water, cannot brush their teeth in it, are unsure if they can shower or wash their dishes in it; 90,000 people are uninformed about this and are becoming increasingly worried about infection; 90,000 people will not go away!!!!!

Galwaywantswater have set up a website. Here is their details. The aim for the website is to allow the people of Galway vote and discuss the current water crisis.
They believe we need to get the message to a national and International audience as inaction and compliance by everyone have created this crisis.

A meeting to debate "Drinking water and The Galway Problem" is taking place in the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway this evening Wednesday 10/12/2008 at 8pm. This is in responce to the RTE Program Buyer Beware that made statements with regards the consumption of pure water!! Please come along .....its free!!

Hello to you my friend! My comment is to bring,to debate,issues I feel are very important,concerning the lisbon treaty.Below are a three videos. The first is very short(3 min)and is of an MEP who sees the "Totalitarian nature of this treaty"
The second is a documentary called "The real face of the European Unio" which is very important as it outlines, once again by MEP's,"An unsettleing Agenda" from an EU that is "Rotten to the Core" .. The Third is from a group of Irishmen. "End of Nations". It is an excellent documentary and it outlines the Lisbon treaty in full.Once again interviews with MEP's. Just be prepared to be a little shocked.

in my comment of 7th june 2007 i said "you listen to the city officials at your peril" it seems i was right judging by the news report on galway bay fm this evening!! there is another boil notice for water within the city!! this is a bit like the foot and mouth problem in the uk.....we are being fed what we want to hear!! we are too trusting of these people they dont tell the facts as they should!! saving their own skins!!!!!!!!!!
