Gambia Afro Beat, based in Lincolnshire, UK, was established to provide a range of African percussion and music services, in schools and arts venues, for individuals and companies.
Its founder, Njega, has been a professional drummer for 16 years, performing and teaching in both The Gambia and the UK -playing a range of traditional African Drums, including the talking drum and his main drum, the djembe. He currently performs with Multi-Cultural Roots-Rhythm Experience, ZubopGambia and others.
Gambia Afro Beat provide independent drum/percussion workshops, developing rhythms with all ages and standards, from beginners to professional drummers, also using drumming as a means of team building, raising self esteem and developing cultural awareness. Traditional African stories are used to blend and bind the experience. Gambia Afro Beat also offer performances and run drum making workshops. African drums are available for purchase and hire, and can be made/tuned/repaired. They also intend, soon, to facilitate drum camps both in the UK and in The Gambia.
Bless UP Gambia Afro Beat, give thanx for the friendship. Always gotta big up artists from the SMILING COAST. Jah Love and Protect u always. Be a light of Jah Rastafari & AFRIKA.
