The Gandhi Tour the touring Music Festival for Peace
The Gandhi Tour unites Artists (World-music, Pop, Fusions and DJ's...) and Charity Organizations to stop hunger and promote nonviolence among all generations. The tour provides a special ambience for a peaceful gathering. Including local artists as well as international stars, the Gandhi Tour is a firework of music & messages that unites artists from different cultures and styles. Every event features special guest speakers, spreading awareness about non-violence and peace.
The Vision
The Gandhi Tour is creating a cultural platform to highlight local artists as well as international stars, supporting the movement of educational pop culture seeking for an ethic, peace driven environment.
Mission
The mission of the tour is to promote non-violence and peace among all generations, cultures and religions and to highlight the global need to eliminate hunger, as well focussing on cultural exchange and networking with international charity organizations.
History
At the launch event of the Gandhi Tour 15.Sept. 2006 one of the highlight's of the Int. Earthdance Peace Festival California, the speech was given by Arun Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, celebrating Gandhi's "Satyagraha, 100 Years of Nonviolence". Inclouded was as well 1001 Ways, the special world-fusion band, with there multi-media program "Gandhi" including original audio and film footages of Mahatma Gandhi. The 2008 world tour will choose special locations around the globe.
