WHAT IS GAP MIAMI: A group of students originated at Miami Dade College who are extending their relations to the community, other colleges, and universities as well.
MAIN PROJECT: EDUCATIONAL DVD ON HUMAN RIGHTS
The project is a documentary that will discuss Human Rights and how developing these rights worldwide can lead to greater peace.
The purpose is teaching Human Rights.
Debut expected on the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2007.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Schools and educational institutions of the world.
INVITING: Government officials, community leaders, Human Rights experts, and any other
interested persons.
PROJECT GUIDELINES:
A-Choose one or more of the Universal Declarations of Human Rights
B- Think of a way to represent it or talk about it
C- Submit video (AVI), photo (JPEG), or audio (MP3) presentation.
D- TIME FRAME:
You have two minutes maximum to extend your presentation of one right. Although two minutes will be accepted, a presentation of only ONE MINUTE will be easier to take into account for the final production.

The Cuban Spring 5 Years Later: The March 2003 Crackdown Remembered
WHEN: Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 9:30pm WHERE: Graham Center Room 150 Florida International University UP Campus 11200 S.W. 8th Street Miami, FL
The Free Cuba Foundation will be showing the documentary "Cuban Spring" which was filmed in 2003 before and after the March 2003 crackdown interviewing many of the activists before their imprisonment and their families reactions following the crackdown.
Following the documentary a round table discussion will be held with the following invited guests:
Manuel Vázquez Portal: Sentenced to 18 years imprisonment on April 5, 2003.
Julio Antonio Valdés Guevara: Part of the group arrested in the 2003 crackdown. He was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment on April 5, 2003.
The event will conclude with a candlelight vigil for Cuba's political prisoners and in solidarity with Tibetans suffering a crackdown today by Chinese occupation authorities.
We will be accepting donations for political prisoners and their families in Cuba
