GAPPAD is Scotland's first Polish/Scottish theatre company.
By our work we want to create a bridge between Poland and Scotland – therefore we address equally Polish and international audiences.
We want to create work that is meaningful – opening people's eyes to important issues, directly connected to our cultures.
We put an emphasis on communication – exploring the concrete languages of Polish, English and the abstract languages of image, music and - perhaps most importantly to us - the body.
In our work we want to cultivate Polish roots of physical theatre and ensemble work, taking inspiration from Jerzy Grotowski and alternative Polish ensemble theatre companies and at the same time we are developing through a collaboration with Scottish based artists.
