New clothing label GarBelle (gar-bell) came into existence in May 2008. So far the line carries handmade dresses that are unique, different to anything in stores right now.
GarBelle has a classic yet modern approach to fashion. Inspiration is taken from Christian Dior's 'New Look' and today's modern trends and fused together to create a new style. Hemlines are slashed to mid-thigh, hoods and pockets are added to classic cuts, and bold colours and patterns are incorporated for aesthetic pleasure.
The name GarBelle comes from two seperate words with separate meanings:
Garb - Clothing or dress esp. of distinctive or special kind.
Belle - A beautiful woman or girl esp. the most beautiful at an event or in a particular group.
Thrown together this new word now means 'Clothes of incomparable beauty'.
