SPONSER A TAXI: You Can Help Launch Garden in Transit!
To date, over 23,000 children and adults across NYC have participated in Garden in Transit. You can ensure that the hand-painted work of these participants is displayed for the world to see this September by sponsoring one or more NYC taxis.
Sponsorship levels:
Blossom Sponsor (1 taxi) For a gift of $500, you will receive a signed certificate with the medallion number of the taxi you sponsored and recognition on the list of Garden in Transit sponsors.
Corsage Sponsor (10 taxis) For a gift of $5,000, you will receive a signed certificate with the medallion numbers of all 10 taxis you sponsored and a framed portion of the Garden in Transit studio floor (see here for details!).
Bouquet Sponsor (20 taxis) For a gift of $10,000, you will receive a signed certificate with the medallion numbers of all 20 taxis you sponsored, a framed portion of the Garden in Transit studio floor, and a panel hand-painted by the GIT team with a message of your choice (see here for details!).

HELP PUT THE PANELS ON TAXIS THIS SEPTEMBER
Do you have experience working with your hands? Are you visually acute and detail-oriented? WE NEED YOU!!
We need thousands of volunteers for the application of the painted panels to the taxis in early September 2007. Interested in seeing how it's done? The more help we get, the quicker we can display all the artwork, and the bigger the impact on the city of New York! Application will run 24 hours a day for the first 2-3 weeks of September, and we would love to have you for any time you can spare during that range. We are especially seeking groups of 20 or more people.

Garden In Transit is a groundbreaking public art project that involves thousands of children and adults across New York City. As part of an art education and art therapy program children at hospitals, schools, and community institutions will paint vibrant flowers symbolizing life, beauty and hope on oversized decals. These panels will cover the hoods, roofs, and trunks of the New York City taxi fleet creating a magnificent “Garden in Transit” for the NYC metered cab’s centennial in the fall of 2007.
