WHO ARE WE?

GARDNER MUSIC is a Nashville-based production company specializing in growing songs and artists through the process of making recordings. We help artists overcome typical barriers such as writer's block ("I have nothing to say"), vocal limitations ("My break is killing me! Why can't I sing higher without flipping into falsetto?"), and even self-esteem issues ("Why would anyone care about what I have to say anyway?"). We grow music in all styles, genres, and cultures, empowering artists to take charge of their own careers without waiting for someone else to "make" things happen for them.

GARDNER MUSIC is strongly committed to the belief that every artist has something unique and valuable to say . . . something that the world NEEDS to hear! We are passionate about growing recordings from our ARTISTS' hearts, instead of someone else's. This makes each project uniquely suited to YOU, the artist. We believe so strongly in this that we do what's best for the you, even when it means making sacrifices.

WHAT DO WE DO?

GARDNER MUSIC is an artist development production company. Simply put, we grow music from the idea stage all the way to a finished product. Other companies focus on the technical side of recording. Our focus is on the artistic side without neglecting technical quality. We help artists develop in ever way possible to make the best record they can. So whether it's vocal and song development or life coaching, we are hear to help artists take the next step for them.

CERTIFIED PRO TOOLS OPERATOR

GARDNER MUSIC founder James Gardner is a Digidesign certified Pro Tools Operator--one of only a handful in the state of Tennessee. This means he can operate the industry standard recording platform at a level deeper than many engineers.

WHAT KIND OF ARTISTS DO WE WORK WITH?

Any talented music creators who are serious about their music CAREERS are candidates for production and development. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting out, if you're interested in growing artistically, we want to hear from you. Our clients are independent singers and bands who want to take their music careers to the next level. Studies show that only 5% of artists signed to a record label are still signed 12 months later. THAT MEANS 95% OF LABEL ARTISTS WON'T BE SIGNED NEXT YEAR! So whether or not you're on a label now, chances are you'll be an indie soon, and THAT'S GOOD NEWS! Why? Because it means you get to keep 100% of your profits! Indie artists can earn more money selling 3500 CD's out of their trunk than many major label artists do off of a platinum record (that's 1,000,000 copies)! That alone should be enough to make anyone want to be indie!

At GARDNER MUSIC , we teach you how to maximize career . . . instead of relying on someone else to realize YOUR vision, with YOUR passion, and make YOUR dreams come true. Who else could know about you better than you? We'll teach you how to sing flexibly and easily, what it means to make a radio-ready song, and how you can eliminate those pesky artist insecurities for GOOD! We'll help you put together a plan for your music business that will earn BACK the money you spent in the studio . . . and more! All this in the context of world-class recording in Nashville's rich musical heritage. When all is said and done, you'll have a product you can REALLY be proud of. Why? Because you put your heart and soul into expressing what was on YOUR heart, instead of making something that someone else THINKS people want to hear.

WHAT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS?

If you're serious about taking your music career to the next level, we'd love to hear from you. Success in music is hard. It takes much persistence and dedication. If you think you have what it takes to be the next GARDNER MUSIC band or singer, send us some of your stuff. We're not for everybody--just a few select artists. But we give equal consideration to each submission we receive. So don't be afraid to give it a try. YOU HAVE A UNIQUE ARTISTIC VOICE LIKE NO ONE ELSE IN THE UNIVERSE!

For more information, email info@gardnermusic.com. Be sure to ask your for FREE copy of "10 QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR PRODUCER."

We hope to hear from you soon.

   About GARDNER MUSIC
Trained in classical music, jazz, and commercial music at the University of Miami and the Wheaton Conservatory of Music, GARDNER MUSIC Founder James Gardner has studied the art of music and production from the entire musical spectrum. While at Embassy Music Nashville, James expanded his career to include A&R, Production Coordination, Artist Management & Development, song placements and the headaches that go along with them. Working with artists, producers, and writers worldwide, he began to notice patterns that hindered internal growth for writers as well as artists. This led him to found Gardner Music, a Nashville-based artist development company dedicated to developing balanced recording artists. GARDNER MUSIC provides years experience working with some of the music industry’s finest talent . . . writers, artists, musicians, and producers . . . both on stage and in the studio. Nicole C. Mullen, Al Kapone, Michael W. Smith and the Grammy association are just a few of the artists and companies they have been privileged to work with. But more important than all this is the GARDNER MUSIC growth process. Unlike most production studios, the focus at GARDNER MUSIC in on process more than product . GARDNER MUSIC goes with you through the struggles every artist goes through and specializes in overcoming difficulties. If you feel like you are stuck or not going anywhere, GARDNER MUSIC may be just the place for you.

The Man who Died In Viet Nam
By Chuck RitenouR-tm

All Rights Reserved - Copy right 2007 Chuck RitenouR

1st verse:

She sits by the window with a book she's been reading for days

just staring at the pages while her mind drifts so far away.

And I know she's thinking of him and how different her life could have been.

No, she never got over the man who died in Viet Nam.

2nd verse:

I've seen her stand at that long black wall that bares his name

Motionless and silent, like a china doll left out in the rain

And I've tried to give her comfort, my effort have all been in vain

When I tried to dull the memory of the man who died in Viet Nam.

Bridge

The years rolled by slowly and I became a man

And the first time she said you look just like him son, I began to understand

why she never remarried never took his ring from her left hand.

I was always there to remind her of the man who died in Viet Nam.

1/2 Bridge solo

1/2 Bridge:

My mother never remarried, she never took his ring from her left hand.

She got enough love to last a lifetime from the man who died in Viet Nam.

She got enough love to last a lifetime from the man who died in Viet Nam.
End
