I am an SF writer from the UK. My short stories have been translated into Polish, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Greek and Hebrew, and adapted for radio in the United States.
My first collection of short stories, The Last Reef, will be published by Elastic Press in August 2008, and my debut novel, Silversands, will follow from Pendragon Press in April 2009.
I have twice placed highly in the Annual Interzone Readers' Poll for favourite short story of the year, coming sixth in 2006 with my story The Last Reef, and first in 2007 with Ack-Ack Macaque.
I am also a founder member of the "Friday Flash Fictioneers" – an ever-expanding group of writers posting extremely short pieces of fiction on their websites each week. I featured in, and wrote the introduction for, the anthology Illuminations, which collects together the best of their work.
Critics have described my stories as: "profound", and "unforgettable", and have likened my style to that of writers such as Raymond Chandler, Jon Courtenay Grimwood, JG Ballard, Richard Morgan, and Charles Stross.
Wondered if you and your friends might be interested in a discounted subscription to Murky Depths. MySpace plays havoc with links but it seems to work ok if you open it in a new tab or window. http://www. murkydepths. com/cartsub-whitechapel. php And don't forget to scroll down when you get there - there may be another surprise! Or visit the main site and grab a subscription by instalments.
I'm doing really well - inspired by all the productivity I see around me, I'm actually getting into some of my own writing (but still leaving time to read, of course).
