FROM THE ARCHIVES:
"Gamen" was the first single from our 1999 release "Vedergällningen", aka "Vengeance". We did a low budget live shoot at Studion, a now shut down rock club in Stockholm. Just back from a couple of days in Cannes, it helped that drinks were free.. and it seems to have helped the overall atmosphere too..
"Herr Holger" was a single from the "Guds spelmän" release. We did this video to it. Yes, it's very low budget. Yes, we do understand that it's not the coolest video ever made..
"Den Bortsålda": Our first video. Budget: Absolute zero. Shot illegally without anyone knowing. It's brutal and we like it... and look how absolutely adorable we are! It's 1994 and we look about 8.. the quality is pretty sad but we hope to replace it with a better conversion in the future.
"Vänner & Fränder" is an old live favourite. We tried to shoot a simple video in the same colour scheme as the cover to the album, "Guds spelmän". This is the shorter single version
Filmed in Sardinia, this is the promo video for the second single of the "Vengeance" album. Nuns and bald men and a beatiful scene with Emma and some black birds..
We started this band in 1990, when we all of a sudden fell in love with the more dramatic old folk music of Sweden. A period of trial and error led to our first recording in 1993, and the setup we have today. The music has evolved from pure folk to something radically different, incorporating elements from almost every musical genre we listen to. It's quite a stew now..

"Garmarna", in ´93, "Vittrad", in ´94, "Guds spelmän", in ´96, "Vedergällningen", in ´99 "Hildegard von Bingen" in´01.

Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

He Of The House's very first (of many) compilation. Nineteen tracks from twenty artists, the end result of which is possibly one of the most diverse compilations I've ever heard. From soft spoken acoustic folk to raving, churning dirge tunes; from a noisy, industrial cover of a Sonic Youth song to oldschool punk from when it was still raw, fast, and unforgiving. Powerviolence peppers the grounds where spooked whispers whinny along, and the caustic words of a madman festering in his own mind play out over perpetually plucked guitar strings. A true honour it is to work with these amazing artists, and I do hope we can keep them coming back for years.
