John Mayer singing in a band that knows how to smile as much as the Barenaked Ladies, funk up their guitars like Dave Matthews, fill out their sound with textures like U2, and dial in smoothness like James Taylor’s stories being told on Miles Davis’ horn.
It's always in the last place you'd look. Garner delivers funk from pasty white suburbanites. They look like the Barenaked Ladies but sound like Stevie Wonder. Garner's energetic show has carried them on tour across Canada three times. Armed with flashy acoustic tricks, gung ho bucket drumming, and inadvertently comedic interaction, this funky outfit is winning fans wherever they go. Garner released their second album, "Purple" this winter, and they continue their mission to pleasantly surprise unsuspecting listeners.
Here's what others are saying about them.
"Garner is a contagious mix of energy and fun. These three young musicians are at the top of their game!" Stephen Alexander, Promoter @ Loplops Lounge.
“You won't doubt for a second that you're hearing some of the very best independent music that our province has to offer.” Brampton News
"Lots of energy, great audience connection and fine songwriting make Garner one to watch!" Jacob Moon, Singer/Songwriter/Vibe Award Winner
“You guys are amazing!!! Again, I was impressed by songwriting, musicianship and professionalism.” Justin Colyn, Sound Engineer with DWL Group

Hey, just wanted to let you guys know it was an absolute pleasure to play along side you earlier this month, and we wanted to thank you for the opportunity, and all the insight you have shared with us about how to organize and run a band. Can't express how greatful we all are to have been able to be a part of your stop in Vancouver, hopefully you will see us our your way in the not too distant future.
