OR DOWNLOAD FROM iTunes or CD BABY

"The debut album from this Irish based singer songwriter. Features 12 rather beautifully crafted haunting folk songs with a slightly jazzy twist from time to time. The album has a lovely haunting sparseness about it with beautifully picked echoing guitars layered behind bakers deep tones which kind of remind me a wee bit of some early red house painters."
Road Records

“'Fading Fast' is my album of 2009 so far….Garret Baker's album is full of chilling atmospheric moods with simple folk songs encircling enriched lyrics…It's about the places the songs bring you to! When I listen to this I am brought to a Parisian cafe on a warm Summer's evening!”
2UIBestow music blog

“..reminded me of the first Young Marble Giants LP with a few nods to Nico and the Velvet Underground thrown in…a threadbare chic.”
Folkbuddy blog.

"…an ethereal touch infuses every nuance and melody…his debut is one of character, class and charm."
Hot Press.

Bonjour Monsieur! I just uploaded three new songs, which fortunately I think you've already heard before.
I hope if you are not playing gigs then you are working on your next album, anyways I don't think you have a right not to play.
I like 'Mary in pale blue' and 'since I let her down,' and I miss 'new Bethlehem.'

if you are walking around the city tomorrow night, sure you might as well wander in to the Shebeen Chic, it'll be a bit of craic.

Hello again,

Four more little sonic gems for your August pleasure are now available on the site. Blitzen Trapper, Boulder Acoustic Society, Jay Brannan and The Wiyos. Yet another fine quartet even though we say so ourselves as picked them out.

I meant to say: thank you for the kindly comment!
I'm still considering exchanging it for a less embarassing life, especially with this resurgence of political bitterness; but my co-conspirators have suggested that I bring my guitar to the protest and do peace chants.
I study economics so that someday I may keep the politicians' hands off the money of the innocent.

P.S. I hope you won't set your lawyer on me really, and please do let us know when you have a name for your new song.

'reminded me of the first Young Marble Giants LP with a few nods to Nico and the Velvet Underground thrown in'-fantastic.
I'll be heading over to Dublin sometime in September-been years since I've been. Really looking forward to it.

I see the video, thanks!
I loved "we let love go, before we let it show" the first time I heard it. It's horrifying, but it's excellent.

I just put up a new home-brew version of my song Annabel Lee which is the way I wanted to do it before I forgot what I was, and the first recording of mine that I don't feel extremely miserable listening to. It's the only track on my page now, so please have a listen if you find the time. It may be my last recording before I become a gardener or a zealot.

Hi Garret,

I'm glad it went well anyway. In that case, I hope you have a large extended family.
