some say a little like Chris Isaak, James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Jackson Browne
(but not really...I just sound like me!)
Garret Swayne has become an eminent figure in the Los Angeles folk music scene in recent years. As creator and host of the Mainstreet Songwriters Showcase, he has been a driving force in the emergence of a real songwriter community in LA, bringing deserving writer/performers to public attention. But he is also widely recognized as a master song craftsman himself and an extraordinary folk artist, a Troubadour for the Digital Age. His songs and stories reveal a profound intellect, but at the same time, they resonate with a full palette of deep emotionality. The end result is immensely appealing—songs that cover a wide range of human experience, from deeply wrought ballads of inner revelation; to hilarious satires of popular culture; to whimsical tales of love and redemption. If there's any common theme, you might say it's about Connection--finding the tones, touching the chords that make us all feel connected to one another. A compelling lyricist and an elegant tunesmith, you usually leave a Garret Swayne show with his songs pleasantly embedded in your brain! For more, visit his official website at www.garretswayne.com.

Hey Garret, just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the evening at the MainStreet Songwriters Showcase! Jeannie and Dave were great, as were you and the other performers. I plan to be back as often as possible! (p.s. Leave A Little Light On is still in my head!) - Bill
Just want to let you know that I just released a digital single version of our National Anthem – “The Defense of Ft. McHenry” – it has 3 of the 4 verses from the original Francis Scott Key poem – please check it out when you get the time – and let me know what you think?
Oh yea – It’s available from Rhapsody and emusic.com – soon on iTunes, etc.
Hey Mr. Next Best Thing... Thanks for the add! Love that tune! It's still in my head a month after Alan's wedding (maybe it hits a little too close to home..haha) That's a definite big Nashville hit one day! Hope all is well...
MUSIC REVIEW: THE B-TUNES [A GREAT & UNUSUAL BEATLES COVER BAND]
This show focuses on the B-sides and album cuts, so the material felt fresh. They have 5 members so that they can do some numbers live that the Beatles only did in-studio. The music is great. Hearing it live made me even MORE aware of the variety in their writing and even in Ringo's drumming. Sometimes simple, sometimes complex. Sometimes passionate, sometimes charmingly corny. Some funny lines. Great musicianship. Cool.
Whattya say Garret? I'm very excited about the Beatunes project and am looking forward to "making" great music with you guys! I should have the setlist down by the time I get back from Seattle - after all, what better way to kill time on a plane....
Sorry I can't answer you about the two T's at the end of my name! What's even worse is my middle name is TODD - why the two D's? I don't get it!?
Hi Garret! Thank you for the add. I liked your songs alot. Yeah, I just moved to Nashville last year. Love it here so far. Hope to see you around town sometime. Keep up the good work. Daniel
Thanks so much for the kind words and congrats, I so appreciate that:)

Thank you for the friend request. I am off to Australia soon but have loved my time in LA and your evenings at Bellissimo's were excellent. As a host you made a visitor like me feel most welcome.
Just a note to let you know I played your CD on MisterB’s Jukebox on WPMD.org this month. It’s really cool for me to be able to get some airplay for all the great talent out there.
The show and is now on my website, www.misterbmusic.com where you can listen or download the show. So tell all your friends to listen and let’s spread our indie music…

It was fun getting to know you better at FAR- West last weekend over Thai food with Sev and Tom. Somehow I never got to hear your showcase in all the excitement, so I hope to catch you again sometime, somewhere else, soon. My head's still spinning!
Small world, isn't it! All those six degrees of separation--we meet through Ron, then I find out we have another mutual friend (Josh) from myspace! kooky!
