The journey of a creative spirit can be one of extreme highs and lows. The relentless drive of some of these souls to express their experiences through art, whether it be drawing, painting or songwriting, can be both blissful and tormenting. This is the story of one such spirit, singer/songwriter, Garrett Walker, and the rocky road he has traveled.
Being just one of thousands of singers and songwriters who have flocked to Music City to express their creativity through song, Garrett's story isn't unique, and that's the irony. Like Salmon swimming up stream, these souls defy all odds. They are compelled to put themselves out there in hopes that others will hear their art and be touched by it in some way. Often needing to block out all the adversity with whatever it takes to ease the struggle just to be able to continue their path.
Garrett's mom and dad were both singers and musicians. When he was a very young child they would often take him to gigs with them. He'd hang out in the back room and listen to the show, sucking up the music like it was breast milk. After the break up of his parents at age 8, his life changed forever, and he uses his songs to paint the pictures of his journey since; Songs about love and pain, hope and faith, and always about reality.
A songwriter’s lifestyle is not an easy one but Garrett makes every effort to use that to his advantage. Knowing that hard times and happiness can be fuel for his craft he thrives on experiences of every kind. Taking in all angles of life and turning them into a creative expression.
He is a gracious and kind soul that wanders this earth writing about life. Success to him only means a better life for those he loves.
Friendship is the greatest treasure of all to him. To keep his friendship in tact, you must never lie to him or falter on your responsibility as a human. You must care for all those you come in contact with. If you don't, he will discard you like a worn out rag.
Living by simple means and using his Faith as a compass, Garrett sees his existence as an opportunity to make a positive impact. Using all he has been given to connect us all by song.
Garrett Walker is a man who is guided simply by heartfelt emotion. One who has been granted many natural talents and strives to use them for all the right reasons.

I thought of all the things I wanted for Christmas this year and only one gift really stood out. A gift that will never wear out, break down or get old but one that grows more beautiful every day and one whose worth really cannot be measured except by the heart. This gift is one that never expires but maintains its brilliance day after day, year after year. It has many uses from encouragement and support during the hard times and laughter and smiles during the good times; it's a gift filled with love, appreciation, and care and a gift that forever lives on in one's heart. You are being so Blessed Mr.G with all the good things that are happening to you these past few weeks. As I watch you (u'r talent) growing I say to myself that no one is more deserving of this than you my friend. & God sees this and knows it.
