Won 1st Place in 2009 Stone Soup RI Idol Songwriter Competition
Garry was awarded first place out of over 50 entries in the 2009 Stone Soup Songwriter Contest. Preliminary rounds were held over a period of several weeks, with the final top 10 performing in front of a full audience and five member judging panel at Stone Soup in Pawtucket, RI.

Garry was awarded third place out of over 100 entries in the 2008 Motif/Stone Soup Songwriter Contest. Preliminary rounds were held over a period of several weeks, with the final top 13 performing in front of a full audience and five member judging panel at Stone Soup in Pawtucket, RI.

Garry was nominated in Motif Magazine in two categories of the 2006 Motif Music Awards: Americana Music Local Category Nominations Best Male Vocalist & Best Singer-Songwriter.
Won Top 75 Honor Award in John Lennon Song Writing Contest
Collaborating with Susan Ballard, Garry and Susan won a "Top 75" honor award in the 2001 John Lennon Song Writing Contest with their song "China Doll" with Music & Arrangements by Garry Foisy & lyrics by Susan Ballard.
