Raised in Phoenix, Arizona with a 3-year high school years move to Oklahoma. A back-o-beyond community that embraced the music in everything they did. Lots of front porch, wood stove sessions that routinely lasted for days. After serving 4 years in the Marine Corp Gary returned to the Valley of the Sun just in time to find the Outlaw movement and Southern Rock energy being marketed by the country music industry. This time period produced so many great musicians in the desert. Leading the way were folks like Buck Ownes, Marty Robbins, Buddy Long, Dwayne Eddy, Waylon Jennings, Sanford Clark, Tanya Tucker, and a bumper crop of supporting sidemen that had no trouble getting placed with touring acts. Always a guitar player, but spent his time behind the kit as well. He settled into Bass guitar by the early 70's and has no regreat. Gary enjoys being the foundation for the other musicians to build off of, and truley understands the meaning of disipline. Gary “Clem” Clemmons always want's to work with the best in the business. He is extreamly proud of the band leader assignment for 2-time Hall of Fame artist Johnny Western, and Co-Writer and band member with Ron Keel. Not just a player, but a package that becomes an intragle part of his assignments. Gary finds time to volunteer for musical non-profits like www.wco.org and www.azmusichalloffame as well.

Hi Gary ! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to come play with you and the Country Susperstar Tribute Band! The show was phenomenal, along with the band. It was so great to see you and Tina again, you guys mean the world to me. I don't know where I would be without both of your guidance, support, and love. Also looking forward to starting the process of 'George Strait & Jesus' with you! It'll be awesome to get everything together to make it!
I am a lefty Gary. But I play right handed. actually I don't play at all anymore and will be selling all my guitars on the CHEAP soon! the photo got reversed, is what makes it look like I'm playing left handed :)
