The official Ikon Crowley Boot launch photo's.

The Prince of Wales scarf is by Ikon too.

These are the Desert Boots I have designed for Ikon Footwear.

I've been Desert Boot crazy for as long as I can remember now. Perhaps it has something to do with with it's enduring, classic British quality.

Plus of course it was a staple part of any self respecting Mod's wardrobe. And if it was good enough for those little sawdust ceaser's, it's certaily good enough for me! Plus they're so damn comfortable as well.

To be invited to design my own take on the Desert Boot by those cool folk at Ikon is really a dream come true for me. It's been fascinating following the process from the initial idea and design right through to the finished result.

I'm absolutley thrilled with it. I hope people like them too. Plus it's another groovy addition to my ever expanding collection of 'em....'

They will be in the shops from the end of April and priced at around £50.00.

They come in five colours, Choc Brown, Dark Green, Stone (in cordrouy!), Ice and Black

About me:

My love of music was fired in the late 70’s by a passion for the Beatles and all things punk rock and mod.

Upon leaving school I became an office boy for Decca records ( probably the least Punk record label imaginable in the Western world at the time ! ) before taking over the telephone receptionist job from a departing Danny Baker at the NME.

From there I joined the UK’s most happnin’ independent plugging company and through them began a stint on London’s Capital Radio ( radio’s youngest DJ at the time, clocking in at a tender 19! ), from then on the world was my oyster ( or so I was told ) with many TV stints including Thames TV’s White Light, Channel 4’s Earsay, Carlton’s The Beat and currently ‘Gary Crowley Presents’ on Rockworld TV/ Sky 368 as well as doing time with radio stations like GLR, XFM and now the BBC station for the capital BBC London 94.9 on Saturday's between 6 and 8pm

I also work as a TV reporter for BBC London

A long time, respected champion of new music, this blood nutted bopper has given many new bands and artist their first taste of radio exposure, with the likes of Suede, Dodgy and Bush all going to bigger and better thing's . I have been very fortunate to meet a lot of my 'heroes' and made friends of a few of them, and I currently boast a Woody Allen DVD collection second to none.

Please refer all requests and bookings for possible TV/Radio/voiceover and DJ work to mono_media@hotmail.com

Who I'd like to meet:

Coming soon.....

To be asked to design a Desert Boot for Ikon Footwear and now a limited edition set of T- Shirts for Gama Clothing is a dream come true for me. I can now officially roll over and die having achieved two of my life long ambitions!

I've got so many T-Shirts at GCHQ, it has to be said it resembles a clothing warehouse sometimes. But you can never have enough in my book (!) and when asked by Gama head honcho Gary for ideas...I straightaway thought of a range featuring some of the iconic club logos for London's legendary clubs that set the pace back in the day but have have sadly dissapeared into the mist of time.

The Marquee, the Flamingo, the Scene ( which is coming soon) and also the striking girls face that adorned the front of the essential 60's counter culture newspaper The International Times are the first of the production line.

I'm thrilled with all of them and there'll certainly be adorning my puny frame over the summer. I hope you like them too...

For more info. on the T-Shirts please contact Gary at Gama Clothing on gary.malby@ntlworld.com or through the website at www.gamaclothing.com
