Gary Farr Pianist, composer, producer, arranger and founder of Secret
Formula Records and GF Creative Music. In 1999 he recorded
and released his first two CD's on SFR label. The
Gentle Awakening, a new age CD and
Lost, the first jazz CD that put him on the map as a recording
artist. Gary and his jazz quintet debuted the LOST CD at Sunfest
in Palm Beach Florida on May 1, 1999. The original jazz band
started recording "Deep as the Night" in 1995. One of Gary's most successful projects as producer and musician is
Ron Fattorusso's smooth jazz CD "Up All Night"
released in 2004. Gary also released 'Fresh Brew' in November 2004 and in April 2007 "Movin' Thru L.A." 12 tracks of smooth to fusion jazz. He recently released a solo piano romantic 18 track CD full of jazzy love songs and 6 originals title 'Romance, Piano & Love'.
"As a pianist I have been inspired by many jazz greats. To name a few; Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and Thelonious Monk. As a composer, I have been influenced by jazz, classical, pop and film composers from Bach to the Beatles, from John Coltrane to John Williams. Music has been in my blood as far back as I remember. I enjoy writing different styles of music whether I'm playing the music myself or writing for other musicians. With today's computers and technology a composer's boundaries are endless. Writing and producing music continues to be exciting and challenging."
- Gary
Writing and recording new music can be PAINFUL! Recently, I added a new song to my music player called, "Always" which might be the best song I've written so far.
Surprising since it was torturous coming up with the chorus and I nearly committed suicide searching for the right notes. Then, in studio, my violinist Jan Sullins had to single-handedly create the sound of a "Hollywood style" string section all by herself. This led her to a near suicide attempt until I talked her off the ledge.
So after all this pain and torture, I'm hoping the least you can do is check out "Always," track 1 in my music player. It's from my upcoming album, "Awakening," which is available for pre-order on May 26th at www.MarcEnfroy.com.
Let me know how it sounds to your ears and if all the pain was worth it.
Hi! Gary :o) I'm just thinking of you with *Smiles of Gratitude* because the joy and romance you bring to the world is such a Gift through your music... and all the work you do on Sky.fm furthers the Gift of Music!
Your new solo piano album is truly a jazzy romantic experience, Gary! The classic tunes you interpret brought a lot of nostalgia for me... but my favorite is still *your* composition "Come Home To Me" ~ such a moving little masterpiece :o)
Hello Gary! How are you?! I hope all is flowing just as you wish... I want you to know that your kind support, wonderful music and friendship has deeply touched my life... and that my latest song *Life's Blessings* embraces all the gifts which God has blessed me with... and that includes YOU :o)
Wow...Gary! I've had sound issues with my computer lately, but I am now listening to your new song... and it's a slice from *Heaven* :o) This composition exudes incredible heart energy, with quite a delicate, but powerful beckoning... I'm so glad you didn't leave us hanging with only a fragment of this enticing piece... I loved every note, from beginning to end :o)
Hi Gary!!! *Happy Anniversary* to Sky. fm's Solo Piano Channel :o) I hope you're enjoying the summer! I've been juggling my day job and filming my first music video, so I'm a bit behind on everything... But I FINALLY left a review at CD Baby on your delightful "Movin' Thru L.A."! I apologize for the delay, but my life's been intense!!! Have a most blessed week and take it easy!
