Gary grew up in Queens, NY & started playing electric bass. Spent the summers having battles of the bands in E. Elmhurst & Corona, playing all styles of music including gospel, funk, jazz, rock, soul. Played bass with a local group called Business Before Pleasure, who signed with All Platinum Records. The band recorded songs that were later released on several compilation albums from 1995 - 2000.
Gary spent 8 years as bassist for the doo-wop group "Del-Roys", has played for R&B songstress Me'lisa Morgan and with several gospel and jazz groups. In 2000, Gary relocated to Central Florida, joining and playing with several groups including First Born, Ictus and New Horizons.
In 2005, Gary recorded his debut CD with J&B Studios entitled "Excursions".
He also recorded as a member of First Born on their first cd "Keep the Faith" in 2004.
Gary's Bass Guitars include a 1974 Fender Precision, a 1995 Fender Jazz, a Fender Fretless Jazz with Bartolini pickups & an Audere preamp, 2001 Fender Jazz with Bartolini pickups, 1976 Gibson Les Paul Triumph Bass (retired) and a custom made Cliff Bordwell Bass (4 string) completed in October, 2006 - a beauty. Gary was also featured in the May '07 Issue of Bass Player Magazine in the "Introduce Yourself" section. In 2007, Gary was invited to perform with the Lake County Swing Band for the 2007-09 season- a 20 piece ensemble that performs big band swing music.
things are pretty good on my end as well. we(Raleigh,NC) got about 6" of snow yesterday. Was able to mark some things off my ever growing 'to-do' list so that's a good thang(smile)...thanks for asking
