Gary Granger has opened for Sonny Landreth, trumpeter El Buho ( Joe Cocker/Phish), jazz super-group Astral Project with Steve Masakowski (and even George Jones, Merle Haggard, Neil McCoy, Brenda Lee, Lee Greenwood and others during his "country music phase").~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He has performed in New York City and even more in New Iberia, a fact which keeps him grounded to reality...:) He has toured through over 30 states in the U.S. and his diverse musical experience gives him the ability to conform to any musical situation with both grace and fire. Doug Belote~~~~~Mike Burch~~~~Danny Devillier~~~Jeff Hebert ---------- BRAD WEBB------------and lately Chris ARDOIN--------- are the drummers of choice for this band. Any one is incredible in his own right. Doug Belote (recently was the drummer for dobro-legend JERRY DOUGLAS and most recently for Larry Carlton), the first drummer of the group and the catalyst for getting me to RECORD in the first place--- _________________________In Memphis, my favorite drummer is James Sexton, who played with Kirk Whalum and has some of that Elvin Jones bombasity which works well in my musicial world. -----------------------------------------------------------------~~~~~~So, what do we do onstage???
The performances are a blend of various ratios of jazz harmony, primal grit, blues, rock, technical virtuosity and funk. You may hear flamenco on the same night as a jazz standard or New Orleans funk tune that let's the drummer lay a groove so thick it tastes like seafood gumbo... The musical range of the band provides engaging performances suitable for venues ranging from The Fed-Ex Forum, Medium to Smaller Club Dates and private parties.
