Gary Kibler has been composing, playing and recording his own music for over 30 years. Last year Sony Pictures approached him about creating an original music score and audio design for a major online game release of The Da Vinci Code. Bruce Maddocks, the accomplished sound engineer for a number of Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams soundtrack projects (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Last Samurai, Man On Fire) produced the final masters of this material in his Cups 'n Strings studio in Santa Monica, California.
CNET EDITOR'S REVIEW: With its combination of hard suspense and cool mystique, "The Da Vinci Code" puts a unique set of demands on a soundtrack composer. Gary Kibler proves himself up to the challenge with his cerebral score, which alternates between airy synth sketches and urgent orchestral suites."
Shortly after its release this became the most downloaded game or film related music on CNET's popular music download site DOWNLOAD.COM and for months remained in the top 50 for all music categories. In July of last year the BBC featured the track Winds of Change on their top-rated Top Gear television program, a show with a reputation for showcasing some of the best of new and established music.
Gary most recently worked for Sony Pictures in their Games Studio in Culver City and later for Sony Online Entertainment based in San Diego. He recently relocated to the UK just outside London where he is now working on several new game and film projects.
Below is a segment from the July 30th 2006 episode of the BBC's "Top Gear" programme where "Winds of Change" was featured as the finale music in Richard Hammond's Noble M15 review. The piece was preceded by some excellent musical company - several bits of tracks from Amon Tobin, Muse and others.

What can we say about your last comment ? It will not make our day but our month at least !
Thanks you again Gary, the way you describe music does mean a lot to us (is it english ?) anyway, all we need to do now is the rest of the job... a band ? a label ? a website ?
If you have a point of view, don't hesitate to tell us !
I should mention that I am fussy about public bathrooms and will always clean the seat and cover it with toilet paper or album covers designed for this purpose. I have a large collection of classic rolls of the Blues Magoos, T Rex and The Raspberries; all first pressings and out of print. And even though it is disrespectful to eat after dark I do treat myself to dimming the lights and walking around the house with an empty bag of Frito's corn chips. This is a signal to neighbors that Mustafio is home and an invitation to join me.

The lady asked to speak to Rizzo. I said, "Baby, maybe it was because the last time I was caught conjugating a verb on the hygiene exam, all the refreshments were gone." Next I had to deliver a pie to Ravi Shankar who is a reliable tipper. This was verified in the newspaper about the rockets going off; how every hit TV show has one star who does everything.
Gary, Thanks for making the connection. I always thought that it would be cool to write music for the Da Vinci Code. Your music really captures the spirit. Joe
