Gary Moonboots, a name which aptly reflects their music, as ethereal as it is palpable and concrete. Finally, the guitarist Olivier Rutten crystallizes his long and rich experience as author-composer-interpreter in gathering around him creative musicians of renown.
Articulated around a trip-hop rhythm with a dub undertone, made groovy by a solid rhythmic section and constructed on multilayered, eclectic sounds, Gary Moonboots are first and foremost instrumentalists. They experiment in an innovative manner a rich, unconventional instrumentation, mixing the sensual and profound voice of Olivier Rutten with harmonizing instruments and electronic samples. The style is characterized by a heavy, uncontaminated rhythm and a skeletal melody with pop tendencies. The roots sound complemented by modern arrangements offers a special, balanced movement which has become their trademark.
