Visionary drummer/percussionist, Gary ”Big G” Stanionis is quickly making a name for himself in the L.A. scene as an in demand studio and live performer. He has been involved in every aspect of the music biz' including: Live performances, clinician, studio recordings, composition, arranging, transcription, and music copying and music education. He is featured on CG Ryche’s DVD “Echoes of Silence” which has received International distribution on KCET/PBS. This DVD is viewed by 1 million viewers each time it airs. Gary just released his first full length CD called “Takin’ it Back”. On which he played the drums and percussion. This is also his debut as a producer.
Big G has performed with such artist as: Brazilian Legends Flora Purim and Airto Moreira, Smooth Jazz Giant Jackiem Joyner, David Garfield, world renowned percussionist C.G. Ryche, Luis Conte, Emilio Castillo and many more.
His "rock solid time" and funky soulful pocket has allowed him to perform with some of the most legendary and in demand artist of our time including live performances with: Tata Vega, Walfredo Reyes Sr. Wally Jr. and Danny Reyes. He is a regular artist @ the T.R.A.P. benefit performing with the great C.G. Ryche and the Bubulubu Heads Percussion Ensemble. Gary has also performed with the Samba Pimps featuring, Chalo Eduardo and Jorge Burmudez other performances with David Garfield, Ralph Humphrey, Russ Miller, Brazilian legends Flora Purim & Airto Moreira. Gary has gained notoriety for his educational clinics for “Drummers for Jesus” along with Will Kennedy, Teddy Cambell and Larry Washington. The list goes on and on!
Gary is the house drummer/percussionist for "The Elament" studio with famed producer/engineer Lew Laing. He has scored an award-winning documentary called "The machines of Sex and Death" and has done extensive studio work for Visa and many other artist and albums. He is the founder of "Elemental Entertainment". On top of all of this he finds time to teach over 35 students and play for Abundant Living Family Church , a mega church in Rancho Cucamonga with well over 10,000 weekly attendees.
