About me:
Gas Money brings the funny and we’re not just saying that because it rhymes. Our group has been listed as up-and-comers in such newspapers as the L.A. Daily News, the Newark Star Ledger, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Rocky Mountain News, and that’s just the start of people contributing to our self-esteem. Yes! So who are we, you ask, and where did we come from? Well, after individually exhausting our financial resources at the Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles, we soon realized that there is funny in numbers. Or is that safety? The five of us soon banded together, creating a hilarious comedy improv show based on crowd suggestions, and taking it on the road (a.k.a. Santa Monica). Almost immediately we began performing to packed audiences, who were laughing in their seats and dancing in the aisles. It wasn’t long before fans were demanding more. That’s right! We started performing sketch! Our first show sold out with over 90 people in the audience and many more turned away at the door. We’ve since gone on to perform in several comedy festivals, including the highly respected L.A. Improv Festival at I.O. West. As our group continues to branch out, we are working hard to create new games and sketches to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. So if you'd like us all to yourself, our group does perform private functions for birthday parties, anniversaries, charity functions, schools, etc. We are also in the process of creating an improv camp for children.
