we have re-recorded our elder songs FIRES AT MIDNIGHT and SOMETHING FOR NOTHING - the THEATRE-EDIT is a shorter version of FIRES AT MIDNIGHT with clean vocals, which was live-performed in a theatre-project in munich from july 2007 to february 2008 - aside from that you can heat up your ears with some new heavy stuff like YET TO COME or our instrumental theme song WORDS ON EMPTY DRAFTS written by our lead guitarist rob. finally and long expected we've digged out FLAGSHIP for you......

Since 2002 GATECRUSHER have been following a definite way: the way of their emotions. Emotions always aim at different directions and never move in a straight way, but they have the same root – good and evil don't really exist, they are one. Exactly this is the core of the band's background: both their lyrics and their music contain as much hardness as lifeblood, as much melancholy as vitality, packed up to a colourful bunch of terrific melodies and shaking rhythmics. The five different influences of the band's members added up create melodic death metal of Scandinavian nature. Highly technically versed guitar melodies in two voices and brilliant solos, thunderous double bass parts and the distinctive death metal voice are significant for the style of GATECRUSHER.
After a small tour through Germany the band had to split unintendedly in autumn of 2005, because nearly all musicians had to move due to study or work reasons. There was silence around GATECRUSHER for nearly two years. At last, in September 2007 the time had come for reunion. Two new musicians blended in, brand-new songs were forged to hard steel, fused with the old material. Since October 2007 GATECRUSHER are blowing a new hot-cold wind at their audience
GATECRUSHER folgt seit 2002 einem klaren Weg: dem Weg ihrer Gefühle - Gefühle laufen immer in verschiedene Richtungen und gehen nie einen geradlinigen Weg, aber sie haben denselben Ursprung - Gut und Böse existieren nicht, sie sind eins - genau das hat sich die Band zu Herzen genommen: sowohl die Texte wie auch ihre Musik enthalten ebenso viel Härte wie Herzblut, Melancholie wie Lebensfreude - zusammengepackt zu einem bunten Strauß grandioser Melodien und bebender Rhythmik. Was aus den einzelnen Einflüssen der fünfköpfigen Band unterm Strich rauskommt ist Melodic Death Metal der skandinavischen Art. Charakteristisch für die Band sind technisch hochversierte zweistimmige Gitarrenmelodien und ebenso brillante Solos, donnernde Double-Bassparts und die markante tiefe Death-Metal-Stimme.
Nach einer kleineren Gigserie durch Deutschland löste sich die Band im Herbst 2005 unfreiwillig auf, da alle Musiker entweder studium- oder arbeitsbedingt in die Lande zogen. Fast zwei Jahre lang hörte man nichts mehr von GATECRUSHER. Endlich im September 2007 war es soweit: Re-Union! Zwei neue Musiker stießen hinzu, brandneue Songs wurden mit den alten zu einem harten Eisen geschmiedet und seit Oktober 2007 weht GATECRUSHER mit einem neuen heiß-kalten Wind live über das Auditorium.
