"In keeping with Revolver's hottest chicks in metal, meet Gates of Babylon. The band is a culmination of a couple of very talented young ladies and their passion for metal, a passion so strong it has united them even though they live miles apart from one another, in Detroit and Cleveland. Drawing inspiration from bands like As I Lay Dying and Bullet For My Valentine, these girls give up nothing in terms of sheer power, intensity and musical prowess. "It was hard finding the right clean vocalist for this project," says Suzie Reagan, one of the guitarists for the band who also does screaming vocals. "But as soon as we heard her [Jessi Carrick, Lead Vocals], we knew there was really something unique about her style we wanted to incorporate into this band." The distance between them has not been a deterrent for these five ladies who share such a passion for metal. "It was totally by chance that I found Kristen and Sarah online, Kristen is a incredible guitarist and after I heard her play, everything just clicked."

Gates of Babylon was formed in 2008 and includes former members of the popular female fronted metal bands Mary Shaw (Detroit) and Murder the Silence (Cleveland). They have already garnered dedicated fans from all over the world by navigating through a seamless transformation of intensely punishing screams for the dedicated fans of metal, to melodic hooks of mainstream rock which demonstrate the adept contrast and genuine sincerity of their music. In a genre with an acute lack of ladies, they have earned their respect in Detroit and Cleveland’s music scene by sharing the stage with bands like Default, Between the Buried and Me, Chimaira, Caliban, Mushroomhead, Nevermore, Kittie and Psyopus just to name a few. Their much anticipated demo was recorded at Track Six Productions in Cleveland (Epicurean, 3, Forever In Terror -Metal Blade, Helmet -Interscope, Luna Mortis- Century Media, Warrant -Columbia, Beneath the Sky, Drivers Side Impact -Victory Records), and is now available for sale online.
