    Some country music clubs wont rebook us because we havent got a drummer.No problem we'll keep doing pubs and festivals,they obviously dont get what we do,thats ok.Gatorbait will continue on playing old school rocking country regardless of anyone.Did Hank Williams have a drummer? NO. Did Johnny Cash have a drummer when he first started out? NO,Wayne Hancock? NO,Faron Young? NO, The list goes on,and on and on. We think its because they cant line dance to our stuff and we may be a bit too hard core for them. Dont worry folks we've got plenty of gigs and more to come. Three members only: Vocals, acoustic guitar, double bass and electric guitar. Stripped down with no extras but a big authentic sound..................... Based on the early work of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Webb Pierce and Faron Young, Gatorbait keeps the tradition of roots based country music alive in its purest form. The three members of Gatorbait are roots music devotees who have a wealth of experience in the genre and a combined faith and knowledge in the slap back and twang of real rocking hillbilly, from a time when drums were used for parades only................... Gatorbait was formed in 2001 and from humble beginnings has built up a steady following of loyal fans............................................................ The band has played Tamworth Country Music festival, Katherine Country Music Festival in the Northern Territory, Queenscliff Music Festival, Narooma Blues and Rockabilly festival as well as various pub and club gigs throughout Melbourne, Sydney and outlying country areas. Gatorbait can often be heard on country music radio shows throughout Melbourne and Sydney. Gatorbait has an arsenal of original songs all based on its roots as well as lots of well-known covers.............................................................................. GATORBAIT IS- Noray Gulian who strums the acoustic guitar and sings mightily. Former king of The Kingbillies. One of Melbournes favorite and well-known Rockabilly bands...................................................................................................... Doghouse Dave Philpots, slaps and cracks the mighty Bull Fiddle Bass as well as backing up on the vocals.A Detonator in his other job......................... Paulie The Kid Bignell twanger and twister of the full-bodied guitar and reverb amp also a Detonator.............................................................. Technology is accelerating, values are twisting and some contemporary music is barely recognisable as such created more by machine than people. Fortunately the appreciation of hillbilly country music has never faded. Our recordings are simply an expression of our love for this music and admiration for those who pioneered it, most of whom have sadly moved onto Hillbilly Heaven.
