what you hear on this site is more influenced by what I think is the beauty of the particular sounds themselves than anything else. To me, it's more about finding sounds that in some way or another appeal to me at the moment, and then melodicly arranging and puzzling them together on top of a percussion line that seems interesting enough to compliment with an improvised drum section at a later point. Thereafter, due to my lack of skills, I spend quite a lot of time on my Casio for the purpose of creating something that with a certain amount of good will might be thought of as some sort of a solo sequence. Consequently, there is absolutely no planning involved in this project; It's all about the fascination of sounds and joy of creativity. Therefore, neither are there any direct influences behind this project. However, I guess that the tunes I regularly happen to enjoy might have an effect on my sound preferations. Without any comparison whatsoever, these are (among others) the tunes of Sting, the Police, John Mayer, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Frank Zappa, Yellowjackets, Bugge Wesseltoft, John Coltraine, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Keith Jarret, Rush, Ella Fitzgerald, Animal Liberation Orchestra, MMW, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Elle Melle, Maria Mena, Bob Belden, Jimi Tunnel, Jimmy Haslip, Dennis Chambers, Bo Caspers Orkester, Manu Chao, Prince, Nils Petter Molvær, Mr Bungle, Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Johnson, Anne Grethe Preus, Sigurd Köhn (both before and after the tragedy on Dec 26th 2004), and a lot more. Beautifull stuff...
The sole intention of this site is to be able to share thoughts and impressions that might inspire and stimulate the creation of sound. Probably, sharing in this context refers to you making your music available to me... However, this site reveals the fact that there is an available opportunity for everyone to explore the joys of music creation. Accompanying the beautifull sounds of the Norwegian melodic folk rock band named Baunen, a composer's talent is less required for a drummer like me. Allthough I usually leave the composing to others, I still enjoy making my own stuff for my own pleasure. The sounds you hear on this site is my own stuff, all of it played by me. Not too refined or pretentious, just the simple result of a few hours off...
