Fave albums (in no particular order) 2112 (Rush), In Rock (Purple), Led Zepp 3, Aqualung (Tull), Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Paranoid and Sunburnt (Skunkanansie), Are You Experienced (Jimi)
Other artists I admire include:
Ian Gillan, Uriah Heep, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Motorhead, Scorpions, Rainbow, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy, Saxon, Accept, UFO, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ozric Tentacles, Gong, The Shadows, Whitesnake, They Might Be Giants, The Yardbirds, Breed 77, Avenge Sevenfold, Trivium, Tom Jones, Kate Bush, Frankie Laine, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joey Taffola, Vinnie Moore, Metallica, Simon and Garfunkel, ABBA, Janis Joplin, Stevie Van Lange.
Movies
Top Five would be:
The Longest Day, The Empire Strikes Back, The Green Mile, Angels With Dirty Faces, The Good The Bad and The Ugly.
I would also have to mention all the Trek films (although at least four of them are pants) The Star Wars Trilogys (that's right BOTH of them!) Lord of the Rings, Saving Private Ryan, The Matrix (just the first one).
Television
Futurama, Simpsons, My Name is Earl, Spaced, Heroes, Dexter, Star Trek TNG, DS9, TOS, VOY (in that order - how nerdy is that?), anything with Peter Kay in it, and lots of crap from the 70's like The Sweeney, The Professionals, The Goodies, Monty Python (obviously)
I ABSOLUTLEY DESPISE all forms of "Reality" TV (or Cheap TV as I prefer to think of it) and anything starring people who are only famous because of "Reality" TV and the plethora of Celebrity Fame Pop Rock Idol School Come Dancing in the Jungle sh@t that currently clogs the TV arteries.
Books
Apart from the twin gods of JRR Tolkien (his book about fly fishing is unputdownable , if you can find a copy) and Douglas Adams I will read anything by Terry Pratchett, Barbara Hambly, Robert Rankin or Iain M Banks. "Is it just me or is everything Sh*t?" vol 1 and 2, and anything to do with conspiracy theorys..I believe in most of them sadly...
Heroes
Other than the musicians I have already mentioned? Just my Dad, Don Coulson, who on top of being the best Jerry Lee Lewis impersonator in the UK, is also the best Dad, Grandad and friend.

I am currently playing lead guitar for Yorkshire based Classic Rock/Metal band SHIELD OF STEEL and our debut album "Communion" is to be released worldwide through Copro Records later this year. Check us out at www.myspace.com/shieldofsteelrocks
In what I shall laughingly call my spare time, I teach guitar and bass (I actually started out as a bassist) and will sometimes do sessions for other artist and bands if my schedule permits.
I also sing and play bass and keyboards. Although I have played most kinds of music at one time or another, my passion is for the old 70's classic heavy rock/prog bands like Zepp, Purple, Sabbath and Tull.
My influences are (guitar) Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads, Gary Moore, Ritchie Blackmore;(bass) Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheehan, Geezer Butler...
Who I'd like to meet: Alive: Gary Moore and Jimmy Page
Brown Bread: Jimi Hendrix and Elvis
Fictional: Yoda and Dirty Harry
Imaginary: Dirty Yoda (my day ahead go make punk)
Ritchie Blackmore: To thank him for the style.
Tony Iommi: To thank him for the riffage.
Jimmy Page: To thank him for the versatility
Geezer Butler, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee and Bob Daisley: To thank them for showing that rock bass doesn't have to be endless root note pounding.
