Sounds Like
"[Three Broken Love Songs] showed much intensity, even large elements of Gershwin in the first movement." Liverpool Daily
"[Ivory Ghosts] manages to achieve such an intensity of plaintive sound that it just seems to fire off the emotion right in the centre of your head" 4Barsrest.com
"[Ivory Ghosts] made quite an impression on the
audience and rightly so...For all its brevity this is
music that can cast a powerful spell and the atmospheric sounds Higgins
creates were exploited by the band to haunting and moving effect" 4Barsrest.com
"[Freaks] was a real tour de force from both band and soloist, modern music which was nevertheless very approachable and audience-friendly." 4Barsrest.com
"[Freaks] – an ostentatious piece of musical mellow drama, inspired by a tale from the circus grotesque."
REFERENCE?
"Perhaps the most striking work in the programme is Gavin Higgins’ Freaks. 4Barsrest.com
