For me and my writing, the people set the scene.
I realised this as I sat down to record with Michael and Lucy, the songs that would become the album ‘Breech Birth’.
Songs about the relationships and friendships I have made on my journey, post university and home (where I began tuning up a guitar and vocal vocabulary).
Dream-like songs that spent the better part of my twenties stewing in the womb of the various creative collectives I frequented in the music houses of Amsterdam and Dublin.
The album title ‘Breech Birth’ is, in part, influenced by my co-sibling, Julie, who is a mid-wife and someone who must see new beginnings every day. That’s what these songs revolve around, new beginnings (with a little help from my friends)
The album cover is partly inspired by the Irish Artist, William Orpen, who left his homeland of Ireland in search of new beginnings,
See you on my travels… Gavin

Hey Gav, It's good to hear you're having a good time in Porto. I'm doing great thanks. Enjoying the Summer and such ;) Bumped into Lake at a party in the Dam on Saturday, was good to see her again. Sooo, you're in Dublin at the mo? Hope things are well.. Janine x
Good as ever to hear from you. I'm not sure I will be around next week though. Things are a bit crazy at the moment (work is blowing my top and a close person to me requires my assistance in hospital at present).
However, it would be good to see you all the same. Claire is off at present (made redundant). Get in touch with her and maybe I could hook up with the two of yous in some bar in town if it is in the evening after work (not Wednesday)...
Not sure right now. But sure, if we don't hook up, we must spend some quality time at Xmas...
Hi Gav, summer is rainy in Belgium :( . Now I'm working hard in the key music store and preparing for the ghent fest (have to play many gigs :-) and work also in Trefpunt) but I'm looking forward to my little trip I'm planning somewhere in september. Maybe I'll pass true portugal too ... hope to see you again soon ... kisses en een dikke knuffel x ch

So Portugal is the next country for you to conquer! It was great getting to know you in Amsterdam and playing at your night in Gent! I am still listening your cd frequently. Hope to see you again when you come back north!
nooo, you left without us having a chance to say goodbye properly :'( I guess we already did that last year ... I really miss you Gav, hope you come back someday ... or I might try to get to Porto this summer ... I wish you all the best, always keep your beautiful smile and remember I'm still close to you, I always will be.. love ... xxx - me
Thanks for the comment, Gavin. It was nice to know you, I really appreciate people like you, that are not afraid to leave home, travelling around, meeting new people and different places, just you and your guitar...
Maybe someday I'll make the same.
we'll meet again on the streets, I want your album! ;)
I really love your songs and your style of living. I hope you enjoy our country.
ElGavo, nothing would give me greater pleasure than a jolly adventure right now. Sadly, no can do at present. I am all holiday-booked for the rest of year (trip to the States and Poland/Germany). I would love to be heading off somewhere though. It is a year to the day I think when I headed off to Egypt so I am indeed itching for some fun and frolics. Where you heading southwise anyway? P
Hi Gav! remember me? it's been so long ! how are you now? still roaming around in Gent? I keep hoping to bump into you again someday, but it's not working ;-) wanna hook up for a drink next week? let me know ... xxx Charlotte
