Tampa Taiko is a professional drumming duo that has performed their unique style for a vast array of audiences, performing at festivals, concert halls, schools, workshops, summer camps, corporate and VIP events. Using a collection of taiko drums made by themselves from discarded wine barrels, Tampa Taiko has developed a dynamic fusion of old and new styles of drumming, bringing a contemporary vibrance to an ancient martial artform.
I Thank you for the add on! You truely have an awesome website! I hope you enjoyed my book release Desperate Lands: The War on Terror Through The Eyes of a Special Forces Soldier. We Thank you for all your support U.S. Army Special Forces. I am also a Gavilan College Alumni member. I hope to see you at the Gavilan College Career Day Feb 2009.
I didn't get to see everything that was going on at GavFEST 2007's Earth Day celebration yesterday, so I can't wait to see the segment on Gav-TV 18!
I hovered around the main stage the majority of the day. Los Cinco Pollos de San Juan and The Figureheads were GREAT! And, as always, the Taiko drummers were great fun too! I hope the video footage that I shot of coordinator Marilyn Abad-Cardinalli beating furiously on those Taiko drums during the audience participation portion is good enough to air on Gav-TV 18! She really needed to get some of that nervous energy released!
It is a lot of work, but she shouldn't worry so much - GavFEST always turns out great! My nephew brought his family, and even though they came late in the day, now that they know what GavFEST is, they said they would definitely come next year.
I imagine the postcard mailing was also great for getting the word out. Someday, the event will be as big as the Garlic Festival!
