  • Music

A little of everything, but especially blues, rock, and folk. Some classical and country, along with a few really old songs that I remember from my childhood. Below you will find some Play Lists that contain a lot of my favorite music. Each Play List has up to 75 songs that play in random order, although you can pick specific songs if you wish. I often let the Play Lists play in the background while I do other stuff.

Be sure to check out Black Squirrel Radio!!! An excellent place to here lots of local music:

About me:

I'm here (on MySpace) because I want new friends. It is not that there is anything particularly wrong with my old friends – nothing that Windex and a roll of duck tape couldn't fix – but I have a vision; I'm on a mission; an angel from heaven appeared unto me and gave me a wedgy. Here is my plan: I'm looking for friends who live within about 20 miles of me (i.e., close enough so that we can hang out frequently in real life without causing the polar ice caps to melt). Friends who feel comfortable calling me up out of the blue to say "Hey, let's do sumptin!" You see, aside from my wife (who is my very best friend), there are only 4.5 people in the world who spend an significant amount of quality time with me. I've had close friends at various times over the course of my life, but they are all hundreds or thousands of miles away now, and I rarely, if ever, get to see them any more. So here I am, and here you are. I'm NOT here because I love cyberspace; I'm here because I love real life, and I want to meet you in real life. A lot of people say they want to meet people, but they never really take the time to do it. If you want to meet me, just say the word and I will seriously do my best to make it happen.

Who I'd like to meet:

Women, men, couples, groups...anyone who is comfortable with diversity, especially thoughful people who hava a spirit of adventure and enjoy deep conversation. SPECIAL NOTICE: We are also looking for someone who would like to come live with us and be a domestic god/goddess in exchange for free room & board. (Please see my blog entitled "God/Goddess of Home & Hearth" for further clarification.)

Here is a fun video called They're Made Out of Meat! ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Dk9z6Ul4X4#watch-main-area )"They're Made Out of Meat"

Below you will find some videos. The first one is a recording of Allen Watts discussing some of the ideas that I often talk about in my own writing (about the nature of mind, self, and the nature of physical reality). I don't totally agree with everything he says, but I share a lot of his perspective. Actually, when you get to the end of the video, you discover that you can click on a series of other videos. The ones by Watts are "Myth of Myself" and "Myth of Myself 2/2". I don't know what all of the other videos are.

Here is a short cartoon video that gives a fairly simple and entertaining introduction to one of the weird puzzles of quantum physics (the double-slit experiement).

For anyone interested in the debate between evolution and creationism, I highly recommend a book called "Finding Darwin's God" by Ken Miller. This video shows Ken Miller's talk on Intelligent Design at Case Western University. The first 5 minutes are a bit slow to get going, but if you think that the fossil evidence does not support evolution, or if you think that there are no fossils showing intermediate forms, then you really ought to watch this video. Then I welcome you to post a comment telling me what you think is wrong with Miller's presentation. To see some related videos by Miller and others, you can go to this link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVRsWAjvQSg

This is a presentation by Kent Hovind called "100 Reasons why evolution is stupid". It is actually very entertaining, in roughly the sort of slapstick way that "Police Academy", "Airplane" or "Spaceballs" is entertaining. The frightening thing is that Kent Hovind is deadly serious. And more disturbing still is the fact that Hovind is among the group of influential creationists who are trying very hard to make schools teach creationism as though it were an alternative scientific theory. If you want to watch this video, please open another browser window and go to my blog entry entitled "100 Reasons why Kent Hovind's claims against evolution are stupid ". As you watch Hovind's video, you can pause it occasionally to read my comments on many of the claims that are being made. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8460724380865730143

And then there is the old "chicken and the egg" question ;-)

Here is something just for fun ;-)

Something else sorta fun...

And there is this interesting talk on psi phenomena: "Science and the taboo of psi" with Dean Radin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw_O9Qiwqew

Google Tech Talks January, 16 2008 ABSTRACT Do telepathy, clairvoyance and other "psi" abilities exist? The majority of the general population believes that they do, and yet fewer than one percent of mainstream academic institutions have any faculty known for their interest in these frequently reported experiences. Hi Gaylen and Carmella Too!
Wow!  Like you Gaylen, a lot to absorb here!  Really amazing site you've created.  Thanks for the note.  Don't know when I"m going to be in Ohio.  I went through with Patty and her daughter and her daughter's best friend in 2006 as after Mom transcended Patty took me to Ireland.  Too much to write about.  I moved to Steve's to try to find a job.  Been here since July 1st with no luck yet, just 3 interviews that didn't go anywhere.  I hit the road with my music and was in Iowa for 2 weeks; but only made $225 once all was said and done.  I need to find a job to save enough money to get an apartment.  I moved off the old farm last Dec 1st, a melancholy task.  I really miss Mom yet now have new visions she brought out in me.  I continue on a path of sorts that hopefully continues to enlighten, to rise above the trials.  Though in the city I find natural worlds, miniworlds where being transcendental nature remains my window, and at times my music... though my piano remains up north.  When I'm ready I might start playing at a club here.  I didn't know what I did the other day "Bulletin Board"?  I guess I somehow made one and didn't know it ha!  I thought I was emailing a friend about my music selling for $79 a CD!  Still can't figure that out!  Maybe it's the combination of Judy Garland and solo piano, which I'm very lucky piano stands so well alone as a solo instrument.  So... I house sat/ dog sat for last winter on Jay Gould Lake for some snow birds.  18 1/2 % unemployment up there, so now trying to adjust to "city life" in hopes to find work down here.  How are you?  Maybe we need to email as I think postings aren't exactly all about personal inuendos.  Really appreciate your promoting philosophy, a great contribution!  You are also a Free Thinker and I am glad you are bringing it to the fore.  I saw Jimmy working on his garage and visited one day... but that's a year ago now!  I'll email instead.  Would like to cat
