Genesis opened up a new world in front of me and I filled it in with Jethro Tull, King Crimson and Van der Graaf Generator.
The message was clear; music can save the world.
That's what Desire (Bob Dylan) and 4 Way Street (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) did.
Me, I tried to do that with Jackye Rubin, my brother Max and our band.
Some years later, The Clash, Talking Heads, The Police.
I feel in love with some new romantic acts like Durans, Prince and Madonna.
I became a bass player, I played funky with Krundaals then I got back to songwriting.
Ethnic music, world music, Mano Negra, Ska-P.
The last decade and the new millennium marked a return to pop; Oasis, Lightning Seeds and Coldplay.
And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make.
Sounds Like
Though I know it is a very banal statement, I must say I just sound like me.
Born in Tora (Caserta), Italy, Giuseppe Gazerro has been a teacher of English Language and Literature since ’87, but he has been devoting his heart to his deepest passion, music, since he was too young to talk and his activity of composing tracks dates back to 1969.
In those years, he started writing songs for an imaginary group he ambitiously named ‘Musichiere Dell’Arte’, and in which he was ‘The Hermit’.
For three years after that, he was in his first real line-up, the ‘Canzoniere Del Maggio’, a protest-song folk-oriented band with which he toured the whole North-East of Italy.
Later on, he formed his first group playing his own songs, ‘Jag Band’, which allowed him to be recognized as a songwriter.
In ’82, tired of the scanty recognition of the audience, he decided to follow the tracks of the pop-oriented fashion of the time, became a bassist and entered a funky-pop group, ‘Krundaals’, that still represents his greatest achievement, at least from the point of view of popularity.
In ’84, actually, ‘Krundaals’ recorded an extended play for the indie label ‘U-Boat’, ‘EMERGING’, a record favourably reviewed by most italian music magazines and broadcasted live on RAI 2 (Tandem) , RAI 3(Diskogenia), and officially distributed on the market.
In ’85, the ‘Krundaals’ are involved in the composition of the soundtrack of 'Indiscrezioni sulla Notte',italian picture movie.

Once the group split (’86), he returned to his solitary activity of songwriting and, in the same year, he recorded a project, ‘Prologo Per Un Progetto Pretenzioso’, which was awarded of the ‘Best Artist of the Month’ prize by the musical magazine ‘Tuttifrutti’.
At the end of the eighties, while his teaching activity turned into a steady job, he formed two groups working on parallel lines: the first, ‘HB’, still alive and kicking at the moment, was meant to be a soul cover band and gave him a change to get back on the road; the second, ‘Esercizi Giornalieri Obbligatori’, later simply called ‘EGO’, was supposed to be the workshop of the songs he had never stopped writing.
With ‘EGO’, Gazerro recorded ‘All The Pigeons In The Rain’ (’91) and ‘Cristiani Battisti (’92), once again reviewed by all major italian mags.
When even the ‘EGO’ experience came to an end, he once again returned to his solo activity and thus in ’96 he produced a record, ‘TEMI SOSPESI’, officially published by A&M Songs & Music (recently remixed and edited) and three years later he started the project named ‘BIBLICA BOULEVARD’, which saw the light in the beginning of ’99.
*Biblica Boulevard* was positively welcomed and so Gazerro created a touring band naming it *Biblica Boulevard Revisited*, to underline the roots coming from the very same project and, at the same time, a new presence; Andrea Scarso, guitarist, who, from 2000 on, has been the co-author of all the tracks.
With a new line up, Biblica Boulevard Revisited recorded a brand new album named *LE COSE CHE SUCCEDONO E LE COSE CHE SONO* and performed in important venues like the Carnival in Venice and the famous MEI in Faenza, annual meeting of Italian Independent Labels.
But in 2003 also the adventure of BBR came to an end and Gazerro got back to his first love, Bob Dylan.
With the patronage of Maggie’s Farm (www.maggiesfarm.it) he performed in many Dylan tributes, namely in Rome (Big Mama, 2004), Milan (2005) and at Pistoia Blues in 2006.
At present he’s working at an album of Dylan covers in Italian tentatively named *Desire*, he performs with Mr.Antondjango's Band in the musica show *Are Times A-Changin'^ and he’s keeping on playing live with his old soul band, HB.
Giuseppe Gazerro: un rocker in cattedra
Insegnante di lingua inglese, casertano di origini, Giuseppe Gazerro è uno di quei rocker che non ti aspetti. Ammalato di rock n' roll già da bambino, agli inizi degl'anni settanta comincia a farsi strada nella line-up della band Canzoniere Del Maggio, collettivo virato verso la prosest song e attivo nel Nord Est dell'Italia. Pochi anni più tardi da vita alla Jag Band che tuttavia ben presto scioglie, per abbracciare il pop, diventando bassista dei Krundaals, una band funky-pop con cui nel 1984 registra anche un extended play per un etichetta indipendente. Con i Krundaals raccoglie parecchie soddisfazioni arrivando ad esibirsi per la Rai in diverse occasioni. Nel 1985, ancora con i Krundaals prende parte alla composizione della colonna sonora del film Indiscrezioni sulla Notte. Dopo lo scioglimento nel 1986 della band, ritorna a scrivere canzoni da solo e nello stesso anno produce un suo personale demotape Prologo Per Un Progetto Pretenzioso, che viene indicato come Miglior Artista del Mese dalla rivista musicale Tuttifrutti. Alla fine degl'anni ottanta forma due band parallele, la prima gli HB, ancora attivi nel circuito dei club e dediti ad un repertorio fatto quasi esclusivamente di cover, la seconda Esercizi Giornalieri Obbligatori, più tardi chiamati semplicemente EGO. Con gli EGO, Gazerro ha inciso All The Pigeons In The Rain ('91) e Cristiani Battisti ('92), entrambi recensiti sulle maggiori riviste musicali italiane. Quando l'esperienza con gli EGO giunge alla conclusione, ritorna ancora una volta all'attività solistica e produce il demo tape Temi Sospesi, pubblicato poi ufficialmente dalla A&M Songs & Music. Due anni più tardi nel marzo del 1999 arriva la svolta con il progetto Biblica Boulevard, che vede la luce su cd nel luglio del 1999. L'esperienza entusiasma a tal punto che si decide di promuovere in versione live il disco. Dopo un anno si comincia a comporre nuove canzoni e nel 2001/2002 cominciano a registrare "Le cose che succedono" uscito, poi, nell'Ottobre 2002. Questo disco gli frutta una prestigiosa partecipazione al Meeting Delle Etichette Indipendenti. Nella primavera del 2003 anche i Biblica Boulevard giungono al termine del loro percorso e quindi ritorna ancora una volta alla composizione di materiale solistico. Nel contempo partecipa al Dylan Meeting Italiano a Verona, al Dylan Gospel Tribute al Big Mama, quello di Milano del 2005 per la presentazione di *No Directin Home* ed al Pistoia Blues Hootenanny nel 2006.
Nel 2007, infine, viene scritturato dalla AM Songs & Music, per la quale sta registrano *Desire*, un album di cover di BOb Dylan tradotte in italiano ed e' impegnato con la Mr.Antondjango Band nello spettacolo musicale *Are Times A-Changin'?*
Nel contempo, prosegue la sua attivita' live col suo vecchio gruppo, gli HB.
