For over 10 years, GAZPACHO has been performing their infectious blend of music and musicianship throughout the New England area. Formed in 1996 as an acoustic trio, GAZPACHO has grown into the area's top 80's tribute band. "It wasn't always about the 80's", says lead vocalist and drummer Chris Anderson, "we started out not focusing on a particular genre, just trying to play music that we enjoyed." Over time, however, the band noticed a growing response to the retro 80's songs they were throwing into the mix. "It's hard not to be affected by a whole room diggin' it and dancing," says guitarist Gary Leighton. With songs like Rick Springfield's Jessie's Girl and Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer becoming fan favorites, GAZPACHO made the move in the late 90's to focus their sound. "We added a full time bass player and really went after the signature 80's sound with electronic drums, keyboards and computers," states keyboardist Jason Keazer. With the 80's theme taking center stage, the band pondered a name change, but by then had built enough of a following performing 80's music as GAZPACHO that it seemed counterproductive. According to bassist/vocalist Ralph Napolitano, "the name might not scream 80's, but people know us and know what we do." Renee Napolitano rounds out the band, sitting in on bass and vocals for classic 80's "chick rock." The result is a total 80's experience with a band able to cover all the musical genres of the 1980's. From Classic Rock hits to New Wave electronica, Top 40 Radio Pop to Hair Metal excess, GAZPACHO guarantees a spot-on performance that will leave the audience asking for more. "It sounds cheesy, but we kind of bring people memories," Leighton muses. "It's really a great time, at the end of the night they don't want you to stop."
