Joshua Alexander Banks (born November 4, 1988)is an American Rapper/Producer, better known for his stage name Yung Banks, who has yet to release a major studio album. His independent album is set to release under the underground label MUSIC IS LIFE ENTERTAINMENT (M.I.L.E.)

Early Life
Yung Banks was born in Columbus, Ohio, but raised in the city of Mansfield, Ohio (Est.pop.50,212), to Shanell Caprice Banks and James Edward Banks Sr; After his father and mother split, Yung Banks continued to live with his mother and his four other siblings. Discovering he had a passion for writing and a way with words in 6th grade, Yung Banks started writing poetry and little rhymes. Seeing his older brother (American Rapper Jbiznyss) rap, Yung banks decided that he wanted to take music seriously.

After Yung Banks moved from Mansfield to Raleigh, NC to live with his father in 2003, he decided to really pursue music with a passion. While attending school at Garner Senior High School, in Garner, NC, he teamed up with fellow local rappers Tommy Gunz and Cassio Cash to form Ghetto Boi Entertainment. After the addition of fellow rappers 20 Gramz and Yung Phyah, Yung Banks and Ghetto Boi Entertainment released one mixtape titled GBE PRESENTS...Vol.1. After a slight mishap in the group, Yung Banks ended up being the only artist to remain on the Ghetto Boi Entertainment roster. In early 2007 Yung Banks started recording tracks for his debut album IT ALL STARTED WIT A PEN, set to release December 13, 2007. However, after several attempts to schedule studio time were side tracked, the project was scrapped. After a 2 year hiatus of not releasing any new material, Banks released his first public mixtape "RAW TALENT VOL...1" for download at http://rapidshare.com/files/153717434/Raw_Talent_Vol...zip.html . Currently, Banks is working on his Debut Album "THA INTRODUCTION" and his second mixtape "FINAL DESTINATION PT.1", BOTH SET TO RELEASE IN EARLY TO MID 2010.
