És a GBOB megvalósítja a terveket...
A legelső GBOB Nemzetközi Döntőjét 2004. decemberben rendezték. A tehetségkutató győztese a spanyol indie zenekar, a Second nem sokkal a döntő után leszerződött az egyik legismertebb kiadóval, a WEA/Warner Brothers egy társával, a DRO Atlantic-kal és az EMI Music-kal, mint terjesztővel.
2007-ben Shakira világ körüli turnéján vendég együttesként vehettek részt.
A 2005-ös tehetségkutatót a grunge rockot játszó Kopek nyerte Írországból, akikkel azóta leszerződött a New York – i managerrel, Thomas Valentinoval, akinek többek között Kid Rock köszönheti a hírnevét. Az együttes az új dalait Los Angeles-ben, a híres producerrel, Danny Saber-rel (U2, Marilyn Manson, David Bowie stb…) rögzítette. A legújabb számuk Írországban felkerült a Top20-as listára, a debütáló albumuk megjelenése 2008 őszén várható.
Időközben a rockos hip-hopot játszó amerikai Heavy Mojo-val (a 2006-os GBOB győztese) lemezszerződést kötött az SRC Universal Motown kiadó. ,,Amikor a híres Steve Rifkind meglátta a GBOB-n készült DVD-t a zenekar koncertjéről, hihetetlen ajánlatot kaptunk.”- Mondta az együttes szóvivője, David Beame.
Bizonyítás képpen, hogy a kisebb országok is érhetnek el nagy eredményeket a GBOB-n:
2007-ben a Nemzetközi Döntőt a GBOB-n résztvevő legkisebb országot, a Feröer -szigeteket képviselő Boys In A Band nyerte. Felőlük is sokat lehet hallani 2009-ben, sokszor írunk róluk a GBOB honlapján is.
A GBOB segíti az együtteseket a gyors hírnévhez jutáshoz, valamint támogatja őket a további pályafutásuk során is.
A világ legnépszerűbb zenei tehetségkutatója (rock és pop zenekarok számára) időről időre nagyobb szabású eseménnyé növi ki magát. Bizonyítja ezt az is, hogy 2004-ben 16, 2007-ben pedig már 30 ország vett részt a GBOB-n.
A mesterséges ,,pop-bálványokat” kreáló tehetségkutatókkal és minden más agyon magasztalt karaoke versenyekkel ellentétben a GBOB egy valódi zenei esemény, igazi, élő zenét játszó zenekarok számára. Csak két szabály van: nem lehetnek feldolgozások és előre felvett (playback) zenék.
Minden évben helyi fordulók és országos döntők zajlanak több országban világszerte, ezekről az eseményekről kerülnek ki a decemberben rendezendő GBOB Nemzetközi Döntőre a résztvevők.
